I doubt he would have gone that high. Try putting together a roster that would be cap compliant at the end of the 2014 training camp that has Phaneuf at 9m and Pronger at 4.94m.

http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Colin...eday/171/56809

Article from a Flames writer, Colin Dambrauskas. Though don't know how credible he is.

Quote:
Expected to be a team busy in terms of trade talks this year, Brian Burke and the rebuilding Flames are likely to have another move or two come about over the next week or two. The question then becomes, who is next to be moved out? Who is either expendable, no longer part of their plan, or a type of player who Burke & Co. may not favour?
Quote:
That said, there are a few players who remain on this current roster who I feel that Brian Burke may entertain moving fairly quickly. And those players are as follow; Mike Cammalleri, Mikael Backlund, Sven Baertschi, Chris Butler, TJ Galiardi, and perhaps Kris Russell.
Since Gustaffson gets scratched whenever he makes a single mistake, I believe the organization is not very high on him. Wouldn't mind any of the two for Meszaros. Especially Kris Russell should, in case of an injury, be able to play top-4 minutes.

I think Mez will go to the KHL after this year. Doubt anyone would trade for him.

Meszaros would have no value to the Flames on a rebuild and would only be included to balance out cap numbers. At best, we could hope that a competing team would need some depth and has selective video access.

I'd say Detroit, because I hate the Leafs.

Did anybody watch Babcock talk to his team before they left for the ice and that Howard looked like he was suffering from severe delusions ? I know he was trying to keep himself sharp, but man it was silly .

Seeing the Leafs get destroyed today would be pretty satisfying. Make it happen, Detroit

Really would like to see the Flyers jersey from the alternative universe where Philly was an original six team.

I guess that's misunderstood. The only thing you can do with Mesz is to waive him.

I named the two as possible replacements, trade assets would include other players from the organization.

Is NBC giving off a grinding sound during the commercials for anyone else?

The snow is really making the playing conditions horrible, I wouldn't have much fear of an icing call if I was a player out there.

They should just get anything and everything on net. Especially if the goalie is looking into the snow; I think that's Howard's fate twice this game, it seems.

Some of these camera angles are really cool to watch hockey with. Also, Datsyuk is so damn good at puckhandling that he could be playing in mud and would still look good doing it.
