I see what you're getting at, but keep in mind that Bobs had to play Vezina quality just to get them there.

Richards lost the locker room. That is why he was ousted. He pissed off the big name players when he was sitting Havlat and Sykora (both had the same agent IIRC) and allowed Koivu to dicate his linemates. There was no change with that team.

Yeo is at least receptive to making the changes needed during the game. The issue is he has not found a way to integrate his system (which flowed from Richards day) in order to spark offensive scoring. So now the team is playing defensively and hopes to get the other team sleeping. Look at the injuries this team has faced in the last month:

Koivu - blocked shot
Parise - blocked shot
Spurgeon - blocked shot
Mitchell - blocked shots (DAL being the the most recent) even though he came

I'm concerned that we will lose more players if they are told to keep doign this. Outside of Mitchell, that is about 20 minutes a player that is unaccounted for each game. 60 minutes that needs to be made up across the roster.

I like the notion of if it's not broken, don't fix it. And maybe I'm more naive, but it seems like the powerhouse teams and scorers have pretty fixed lines.
It infuriates me. There is very little chance of any chemistry developing on any of these lines because the only players who stay together consistently for weeks at a time are Parise and Koivu.

I just don't understand why he switches up the forward lines when it's the defense that is the problem. Team can't break out of the defensive zone...better juggle the lines.

Also, didn't Blum play well? Why has he been out of the lineup in favor of Stoner and Ballard disastering all over the ice together?

I think he's entering panic mode again.

Lemaire switched lines endlessly. Coaches do it all the time.

God, this is exactly what I was worried about. One veteran comes back? Let's go back to all the combos that haven't worked the last eight times we tried!

It's like he's trying to get less popular.

This just shows Yeo has no clue what the hell he is doing. This guy just needs to go. We need to get someone with a proven track record behind the bench. This experiment has failed. Yeo has had more than enough time to prove otherwise and he just keeps going to the same old habits.

I KNEW this was going to happen!

We all knew it was going to happen.

I was secretly hoping Koivu and Parise would take their sweet time getting healed up because it was giving some lines actual time to develop chemistry. Now Parise comes back and WOOHOO, ANOTHER FORWARD OMELET!

I'm so sick of Yeo.

Back in the day I liked this. Not just because of the surprise from my grandfather (He's putting WHO WITH WHO!?!?!), but Lemaire actually knew how to get the best out of nearly every player he had. Something that Yeo simply lacks. A lot of coaches lack getting the most out of everyone, but have certain lines they can lean on. Yeo doesn't even have that.

Lemaire would have killed for this lineup. Hell Richards didn't even have this type of roster.

I'm sure Lemaire would have this team in contender position at this point.

Hell, Richards might even have us fighting for a top 4 spot.

Well okay, probably not that last one.

Still... sigh.

1 loss and we are now all calling for Yeo's head once again.

Gotta have something to do, I guess.

Sigh.

The lineup is not yet close to Chicago, San Jose, Anaheim, St. Louis, Los Angeles. They should be competing with Colorado/Vancouver, and they should be better than Phoenix and Dallas. They're almost exactly where expected, but I think they should be a lot closer to Colorado level. The losing streak screwed them big time. But geez no coach can make this team a Chicago or St. Louis. NOt yet.

It's not the one loss its the fact that after one loss Yeo has gone and thrown out all the lines that were starting to work, starting to develop chemistry together all to accomodate one forward who is returning. One forward returning with lines that are functional should mean one line gets changed. Not all four of them!

We all knew it was bound to happen. Yeo can handle the kids, but he cannot handle the vets.

It's not just about changing lines. It's about going back to the same mistake over and over and over when it's already proven not to work.

Lemaire made changes and he knew WHY he was making changes and WHY those changes would work. Yeo throws something at the wall, but has no idea why something works and something else doesn't.

I don't think anyone ever STOPPED calling for his head except for the media.

I remember during the wins that people were still talking about how Yeo has to go and the only reason for the turn around was because he was finally forced to put some of the young kids in position to succeed, not because he suddenly learned how to coach differently.

None of those won games were impressive. Still too much grinder's mentality.
