Good thing you didn't get Hamilton. Way too much risk to have one player devoted to your success in a single category, especially one with no MLB track record.

Is this an OBP league? If so Mauer and Votto are money.

OPS. Which works just as well for me. I should easily win R, HR, RBI, OPS. Largely because of Cabrera and Votto, nevermind Kemp, Stanton, Mauer tier of players I managed to snag. Steals will be the death of me.

I wanted to jump at Hamilton because of the huge lead in OPS I will have. Hamilton's garbage hitting won't hurt me too much if he can get on base at a .300 clip and steal 80 bags. Going to have to make due with E-Cab and EYJR.

I'm actually rueing not taking a chance on Hamilton in my 12-team 5*5 league, I think the BA concerns are overblown and he'll clearly score runs if he plays.

I am okay in SB's with Cutch, Kipnis and Segura so I went more for power in the draft. My keepers were Davis, Kipnis, Cutch, Segura, Kershaw, Scherzer and Kimbrel. It's a daily league so really everyone gets used to a degree

C - McCann
1B - C. Davis
2B - Kipnis
SS - Segura
3B - A. Ramirez
OF - McCutchen, Moss, Cruz (essentially the guy I passed on Hamilton for in the draft)
Util - Lowrie
Bench - K. Davis, DeAza, Moustakas, Gomes (C)
SP - Kershaw, Scherzer
RP - Kimbrel, Grilli
P - Cobb, E. Santana, Liriano, Veras, Kluber, T. Ross, Melancon

I positively despise A-Ram. No idea why.

Good luck to you and everyone else this year! By far my favorite fantasy season.

Anyone get MLB.TV yet? Trying to score a decent coupon...

I am really not that excited for baseball this year. Like the 2nd year in a row I can't seem to care about the Yanks.

Actually Dodgers-Padres is the only game on Sunday. Just about everyone else opens on Monday (though technically the Dodgers and D'Backs already opened the season in Australia).

I'm right there with you. I care more about my fantasy team.

I remember as a kid buying tickets off scalpers for $2 just to get into the stadium. Now I wouldn't spend $2 to see in the lower level. I just have no connections to this team it feels.

Maybe the whole transition wearing on me.

The real risk in constructing a roster with the mindset of one player dominating a category is that you're screwed if something happens to that player.

It's better to spread the risk.

I'm actually going to the Mets game next Saturday, more because of the calendar promo than anything else. Well that and the fact if I don't get out to a game or two early in the season (I usually go to two a year), I sure as **** won't want to make the trek in June when they're 15 games out.

I'm bored with the Yanks. I feel no connection to the team and them not winning makes it painful to watch. Games I went to last year were snoozefests. The crowd was HORRIBLE. More tourists then fans.

Thoughts on Miguel Cabrera's new (potential) 12-year $352 MILLION deal???

Could take him to age 43 making 30 million a year if his options vest in years 11 and 12.

Guaranteed to take him to age 41. Making 30 million a year.

Well the tourists / bandwagon fans may be up this year with the additions on the team but I think it is going to be a decent season if they stay healthy. Not liking Robinson as the closer at all but No MO No More.

Mets are in mid season form on opening day. Yikes! The Pirates record is not safe!

Wow Yanks. Loved watching for a couple of innings until CC let in the runs.

Probably going to Tanaka's first start and after I have no motivation to watch.

So uh, Jannsen is hurt. Parnell is hurt. Broxton is hurt. Nate Jones lost his job without ever having it so I guess Ventura is just an idiot. Drafted 6 closers and 4 of them are not "closers."

Very tough opening week for me.

It's literally a rough week for anyone with closers. Just last night I had Grilli and Veras blow up (also have Melancon and he gave up a run) and today Lindstrom imploded. You're probably sitting prettier if you didn't draft any closers at all and just started picking guys up like crazy this week.
