Well Pettersson is going to be suspended, we know that. You can't leave the bench to join a melee after the buzzer and then be the first to drop the gloves.

Dansk was no longer "Meh" that game.

Wennberg sacrificing a lot of his offensive game to shutdown Grigorenko and his line. Zetterberg-esque qualities.

I take that back, Pettersson's situation isn't quite that clear. TSN's Duthie said Pettersson left just before time expired and wasn't the first to drop the gloves, though he bloodied Mironov.

So much for Canada's walk-over to the finals!

The only time when tears are sweet is when Canadians are crying about their national team loss.
Our GM should be a one happy man today!

Dansk and Wennberg were really good today.

On one play, Wennberg was one of, if not the, farthest guys from the puck. He outskated almost everyone and in the end blocked a shot on what would have been a good scoring chance. He didn't do much offensively, but showed his other skills.

Dansk doesn't look the quickest, but he looks big in net, sees pucks well through traffic (as they said on TV), and controls rebounds well. The one goal he gave up was unlucky.

I never bought into the hype with Dumba; as some may recall in his draft year, when everyone else was comparing him to Dion Phaneuf; my comparisons were typically around the pre-Norris version of PK Subban for his upside. He skates well, he hits hard, and he can shoot the puck ... but, as someone famously put, while he has many of the tools, the toolbox needs a ton of work.

Don't be surprised to see him back in the WHL - now with Portland - now that the tournament is over. He could be a serviceable second pair guy, but I don't get the overwhelming hype for him.

As for the games today, I'm absolutely surprised that Canada was dominated so much by the Finns. Nothing against Finland surely, as they clearly have a great team and were the better team - but Canada is stacked with elite level junior talent.

Congrats to the Finns and the Swedes - should be a heck of a final between two countries that hate each other.

Wennberg seems to get better and better with each game at the tournament. While he isn't scoring at the strong pace that he started the tournament with, he has gotten better all around, is controlling the play more, and is playing with a confident swagger. He has that rare ability to slow the play down and knows where his teammates are ... I really think he'll be an excellent guy to have as a 1-2 punch with Johansen. We'll have one right handed guy, one left handed guy; both of whom are skilled offensively and can play in all three zones. Really, Wennberg is a similar player to Johansen, but is less of a straight line type-player.

Plenty to be excited about with this kid ... only one period left in the tournament, will be interesting to see how he and the Swedes react to being down 2-1.

Not great at times in the tournament, but he is stopping the puck. He still looks a bit raw to me and slightly off on his angles, but he's athletic and continues to find a way to keep the puck out of the net. Reminds me of a young Jonathan Quick ... a guy that everyone said could never be good enough to be an NHL starter, but just keeps stopping the puck and letting his stats do the talking.

7 minutes to go, SWE 2 - FIN 2. Should be a wild finish.

Wennberg isn't on the scoresheet but his screens in front of the net were crucial on both Sweden's power play goals. Showing good poise on the power play with the puck as well.

The looks on the Finnish coach's face are priceless. I give it exactly 1 day before there's a meme floating around.

Wennberg has looked great this tournament. He doesn't have points today, but I think was the best player for Sweden. He screened Finnish goalie on both goals and has drown a couple penalties, Swedes tied the game after one of those. Great two way player with lots of speed and bright head, I think he gonna make an easy transition to the NHL.

And speaking of Mantha. He was a non factor when it mattered the most. Absolutely invisible against Finland and Russia. Glad the Jackets didn't draft him. And Rychel barely saw an ice-time.

Well, that was Ristolainen/Teravainen show in OT. Finland wins and Wennberg is named the best player of the game for Sweden.

Dansk is looking real good..... in fact, Kek is looking real good with the picks and signings he's making.. I think he signed or was a part of picking up 8 or 9 SL Blues players that smoked us yesterday...

The future for the CBJ under a Jarmo Kekalainen looks promising..!

I missed the game but Risto is good news for Buffalo.. he was sent down after Nolan arrived which was a good thing.. Wennberg could be a great pick by Kek...

Dansk has bounced around between teams in both Sweden and North America, so he's constantly had to adjust to different size ice surfaces, which might account for his issues with positioning.

The potential problem is he's a goalie who's benefited from his parents sending him to North America for boarding school and goalie camps, and has worked with top goalie coaches in both NA and Europe, yet he's still having technical issues. He's not a raw kid coming out of a lower level Swedish league.

Maybe it's an issue with overcoaching, and he says he plays a hybrid style and takes a bit of everything he has learned and applies it to his game. Some consistency and working with Ian Clark to get his positioning correct hopefully will help.

He's athletic enough to make up for some of his technical problems, and he had so much pressure during this game and how huge it was in Sweden. So he has the intangibles, he just needs to work on some of the details of his game.

Considering the highlights were probably goals, which goalies look good on goals they allow?

He looked fine, as others have said. Shaky at times, but for the most part, he played quite well, as he has all year by winning and stopping pucks more than not.

Just to make the Buffalo future look even more brighter. The Ristolainen-Zadorov is an all star defensive pair of the WJC.

In the OT he made a couple great saves, Risto alone could score twice prior to the goal.
