you didn't like him last week though when you said he was small and his skating sucked, I told you that he would be beast

Look at the team now. Can barely beat Germany. Get beat by Czech, get dismantled by sweden.
That's what happens when Team Canada decides to pick guys like Gauthier

I never said I didn't like him, I said his skating and size will be challenges for him in the NHL. Hopefully he can overcome those issues.

Where did the bad skating thing come from? Every scouting report I've seen since he's been drafted describes him as a good skater and I haven't seen anything to the contrary.

He isn't a bad skater, but he isnt as fast as other small players in the league.

Based on your viewings of the SHL?

Seems weird. McKeen's, EliteProspects, etc. refer to him as fast.

Funny that the Czechs now are losing to Germany 1-0 after 1 period.

Team Canada is sooooo screwed this year. Leaving off all that talent like Brown, Domi, Nurse and even Poirier will be seen as a big mistake.

Make that 3-0 for Germany.

How did Canada lose against this Czech team... seriously.

Because they didn't play like a team. The played like little kids.

To make it even funnier, Germany isn't playing with their best player (by a mile at that) Draisatl.

Thank God for Andreas Johnson. Fredrik Gauthier is a terrible first round selection.

Fairly average so far this tournament, not a bad thing though. Good on faceoffs and solid forechecking. Not much in terms of offence but he isn't counted on for that.

He needs to keep playing aggressive and carry the puck more, but I think Sutter wants his line to dump and chase because he's not the only one constantly dumping the puck instead of carrying it.

And he isn't a terrible first round selection at all.

Sutter not even using one of his best PK players, Gauthier, on the early PK.

Weird decisions.

Really? 6 months after they've been drafted.

Gauthier with a great shift there, had a shot and was part of a great cycle with Anderson and Laughton.

Which one do you think will play more games in the NHL?

Not the first time he doesn't use Gauthier on the PK.

I have no idea why Gauthier is there if he isn't used that capacity more often. This is where he excels.

I just don't see anything coherent on the ice.

If I'm picking the team it's the only reason he makes it. I love the pick, but I was surprised he made the cut.

Everything about this teams play is weak. Weak possession passing clearing attempts offensive zone time just everything looks soft.
