When the horribly fake story first circulated, I clicked through the list of Obama's executive orders. I didn't see any power grabs. I saw federal pay adjustments, org chart revisions, and mostly, the creation of many powerless panels and committees to look into his pet issues.

Compare that to Truman, who sat through the original Do-Nothing Congress, and you'll find way bigger moves. Things like ending racial discrimination in the armed forces and civil services way before the civil rights movement was cool, the Loyalty Order that was supposed to root out communists in the federal government, and actual government takeovers of industries that ended up being ruled unconstitutional.

None of Obama's meager executive orders stack up to a record like that.

Really the only Executive Order that's even come close since then is Eisenhower desegregating public schools. FDR also had that minor one where he put Japanese Americans into internment camps.

Hell, Truman tried to seize control of US steel plants using an executive order. It took the Supreme Court to stop him. The people who talk about dictator Obama tend to be terrible students of history who have no idea the many very worse thing past presidents (even beloved guys) did with their executive power.

Actually I didn't know. It's because the Broc Obama was new to me and I haven't seen that connection yet.

I think its actually just a silly pun on Obamas first name….

Throwing in the Washington comparison was just random…

The George Washington comparison is that once you put broccoli on Obama's head he has the same silhouette as Washington on the dollar bill. I don't know if that was intentional in the broccoli joke or just a coincidence.

I like how it's petulance when he takes a couple of shots at the network that has basically been running an uninterrupted smear/lie campaign against him for five years.
