Waiver moves have started???

www.nhl.com is reporting that the Rangers have claimed Heerema and Heins off waivers. Has the draft started?

Both were cut in camp, and in order to be sent down, had to clear waivers. Has nothing to do with the waiver draft, that's on Friday.

Wow! Hereema was picked up by the NYR? Definitely surprising to see Carolina expose him like this.

Not that this is huge news, but he was a relatively promising prospect.

Yep. I too thought they would keep him. They might have taken a chance they will regret in a few years, although which prospect can welcome as good news the fact he'll have to continue his progression in the NYR's system?

On a side note, that's a preview of what will happen if we decide to send Ryder back to Hamilton. Anyone ready for that?

thought it was a given that Ryder has earned a role on this team already.
Heerema is not done travelling yet I suspect, NY has many guys they have to protect.

That caught me by surprise. I thought Hereema was highly thought of in the Canes organization. The Rangers might have gotten away with one.

Another thing Heerema is is Eric Staal's first, or second cousin... I thought the guy was honestly ready, seeing as to the fact that THN has him ranked (Soumovari as well) as one of the rookies to watch this year.

Heerema ever play with Lundmark b4?

If the Rags decide to send him to their AHL affiliate, does he automatically go back to the Canes or back to waivers?

If he's sent down, the Canes would be allowed to pick him up before any other team.

We can put Juneau , Dhykuis , Traverse , Bouillon , Dackell and Audette on the waiver without much worries . I doubt Beauchemin or Ryder will be unprotected .

Well, if we send Beauchemin down, he'll have to go through waivers anyway. I doubt anyone would pick him up.
