Pickup Hockey in NY/NJ/CT

What rinks do you guys go to to play pick-up hockey in the tri-state area? And about what skill level is the hockey at those rinks? Thanks in advance for the help.

Where are you driving from?

MacKay park is opening up again soon in Englewood NJ and has Monday night opens. Most of my buddies used to play that one before the rink was damaged due to the hurricane and it was always a real good skate

Floyd Hall in Montclair, NJ has morning skates that I skate at when I'm back up north for holidays etc. That skate level varies on who shows but its usually a situation where each team has 1 good line (fwd and D) and then 1 slower line. The night skates they have are usually with a lot of college kids and tend to be better but the typical crap with open happens (no passing/long shifts/etc)

Might be a little too far east for you but on LI at The Rinx in Bethpage Monday nights, Dix Hills Friday nights and Long Beach has Friday and Saturday nights. Info can be found at the website for each. (between 20-25 bucks a man)

New Jersey is covered in rinks, especially the northern part.

Floyd Hall Arena
Mennen Ice rinks
Ice Vault
Twin Oaks
The Rock Ice
Union Sports Arena

Just to name a few.

Bridgewater Sports Arena has hockey at 6am on Fridays and 6:30am Sundays. It's about 45 minutes for me (I'm in Secaucus) but I haven't found many other non weekday mid-morning open hockey sessions.

Twin Oaks in Morristown, NJ is awesome. One of my absolute favorite facilities and the skill level ranges from high school JV to Junior A/Division 1 players depending on the time of year. The more skilled players don't usually take it too seriously so it's a pretty fun atmosphere. And if you're a goalie you get paid 10 bucks to play open hockey if you call ahead.

I last played there about 3 years ago, so things may have changed.

Union Sports Arena has opens at 10:45pm to 12:15am on Tuesday and Thursday nights.
Floyd Hall has them on Friday and Saturday nights at different times if you're looking for late games.

...aaaaaaand Union's Zamboni was broken tonight. No game. Sorry,
Hope you did not waste any time tonight.

Probably shouldn't take any investment advice from me, either.
