Col . gets best player in deal...

Thornton and Luongo are the only franchise players in the deal.Best player wins deal is what I hear. Colorado gets scamed .If what you call top 2/ top 3 goalie in the league today,Hart Trophy runner up, Triple Gold medal winning future Stanley Cup and Hall of Fame goalie getting "scammed" that is too funny

You're right, I wasn't paying close enough attention.

No thank you. I'd rather give up a Bouwmeester or a Jokinen to get a Thornton.

We can always get players but it's hard to replace a goalie like Luongo.

That would very close...

Bou would sweeten the pot big time.I'm not big on Thornton. All signs point to no when Bou and Luongo are thrown in on trade deals.

I know, I'm just saying i'd rather trade anyone BESIDES Luongo.

Hmm..

to Florida: Thornton

to Boston: Horton, Huselius, Krajicek, Novak, '06 1st Round Pick

Boston would get 3 young players and a guy with flashes of scoring ability (Huselius) & a 1st rounder. And it wouldn't take up too much cap space.

I dunno.

You'd have to give up a good player, not a bunch of prospects. Boston has the money and the cap room to sign Thornton. It wouldn't be a salary dump if they moved him.

How about this...

to Boston: Jokinen, Huselius, Krajicek/Novak, '06 2nd Round Pick
a guy whose played all-star hockey on a no-star team, a streaky skilled shooter, 2 young D prospects & a 2nd

to Florida: Joe Thornton

Even though we really need a Pronger more than a Thornton. So uh... hey Blues c'mooooon!

A little better.

Jokinen and Bouwmeester straight up would be a little more realistic.

Then again, we don't really know the trade value of these players in the new market. It could end up being Jokinen and a first for Thornton. Who knows?

Yea that's a good point, seeing as how 3rd / 4th round picks have been able to snag decent players recently. And even though i'm not the biggest fan of Bouwmeester, he's probally not going anywhere I think the Panthers not wanting to trade him is what's stopping a trade with St. Louis for Pronger.
