No comparison between the two at all. I don't think the hype of Reway is anywhere close to that of Daigle back then. Reway produces based off of hard work and skill, if he makes the jump to the NHL one day it will be based off of just that. Mr. Daigle solely relied upon natural skill and that's it, got a fat paycheck and choked, yet still eventually became a decent defensive forward for a couple years.

It is a free country and you are allowed to say what you want but seriously dude, how many brain cells do you lack to even compare these 2 players?

Does Reway also remind you of Doug Wickenheiser, Corey Locke, Guy Rouleau and Brian Sakic?

You seem to be bitterly disappointed that he's not up there with MacKinnon. How about showing a little patience?

18 year old, raw prospect. 6'6 235. Looked decent in preseason. I am going to be very patient while he is chiseled into an NHL player. I hope Crisp pans out too.

When you see how well Hudson Fasching is playing, a guy who's playing the McCarron role to a T on team USA and was drafted in the 4th round, it's particularly depressing.

I wanted us to draft Fasching, but I think the performance of our players that are actually at the WJC easily trumps the fact that Fasching -might- end up being a better player than McCarron.

Not exactly, but we have all year to complain about potentially bad draft picks and spilled milk. We should probably focus on those that are actually playing in the WJC in this particular thread.

Overall I'm pleased with the draft, and I am a fan of Timmins for the most part, but the McCarron pick is looking more terrible by the day. Hitting a home run in the 1st round could have made the 2013 draft a franchise altering one for the habs. Instead it looks like we swung and missed BAD.

Well I had just finished watching Fasching flying around the ice wreaking havoc with his big body and hitting everything for team USA.... while McCarron sits at home...

We already know you didn't like the pick and you think he's a disappointment, you don't need to bring it up every day. Especially when it's not relevant to the thread. I agree that Fasching looked good today but no need to go out of your way to take a cheapshot at one of your whipping boys.

Yup Fasching played well. He's well suited for the WJCs since he has decent speed.

You can say that without taking a dig at McCarron though,

Another American that impressed me was Eichel. He might push McDavid for the top spot in the 2015 draft.

Yeah well I remember a bunch of posters who started whining when the habs picked DLR and it looks like a steal right now so maybe we could all just wait a few years and see how all of them pan out before panicking about one player who's not performing as well as we had hoped 6 months after being drafted.

Everyone already *****ing about McCarron's production halfway through his first CHL season?

Can't say I'm surprised. This is HFhabs after all.

Losing to Canada always hurts as a USA fan.

I kind of slept through the game though. Alarm went off at 9:30, put the NHL.com stream on my laptop in bed and went back to sleep. Dozed off and on through the game and didn't really pay attention to it.

Pretty impressed with Fasching. I didn't like his inconsistency last season. Thought he played lazily and he seemed to have the tools but no toolbox. Guess he went to the hardware store this offseason.
