Marty Lapointe

Many teams want him! In fact according to Yvon Pednault of RDS, Lapointe received 13 offers at the moment. Atlanta, Boston and Ottawa are in the mix. Montreal didn't offer him a contract. He should sign in the next hours!

Did the Leafs offer a contract?

I hope not I just need confirmation that they didn't otherwise I might feel uneasy.

EDIT: This isn't a knock against Lapointe but he's not high on my list of Leaf Priority's

for the first time ever there's a plethora of #1 dmen available, and with the loss of Nieuwendyk and Roberts we need someone who can step in on the left side and play #1 minutes, while Lapointe could do that I'd have other players in mind with more scoring flair and more wheels.

this is not a knock against Lapointe, but i hope someteam overpays him, screws up a teams salary room and makes less demand for remaining free agents

I saw that too, I still think the Bruins are the front runner , at least i hope for only few dollar less he'll take the Bruins offer with the kind of contract they gave him the last time !!!

Was Lapointe bought out? Didn't he sign a five-year contract when he came to Boston? If I'm thinking correctly, he can only be a free agent if he was bought out, and in such a case I thought he couldn't resign with Boston.

Pittsburgh should be after Lapointe. He helped a lot in Bergerons development.

I wouldn't mind seeing Lapointe back.

I would like to see Lappy back in Boston. The Bruins made him a 3years offer so other teams would have to match that OR give him more money for them to sign him.

O'Connell said Bergeron would center the third line, and Isbister was just snatched by the B's today. No room for M. Lapointe.

Not sure about that, from Yvon Pedneault of RDS Lapointe have received 13 offer so far , But he said The Bruins offer still the best so far and what we heard the Bruins are his first choice, Before he sign anywhere else he would give the Bruins a chance to equal !

I wouldn't mind seeing him sign witht the Canucks for the right price. The most I'd offer him is $1.5 mil. IMO, he'd look nice alongside the Sedins.
