I rather them just put Schenn up instead of Downie & have Vinny play center on the second line.

You have to admire that my rally sauna pants are orange and black. I mean, c'mon. I should be charging for this high level gif work.

Well...that was a period of hockey. Nobody can deny that.

I second this. It also appears they share the same sentiment towards time of possession as Chip Kelly.

Bad period. They're really going to have to get Varlamov moving if they want to have a chance to score on him today.

On the other hand, this is the best Mason has looked in a while. I know he was great in the Vancouver game, but he looked pretty shaky still. He looks faster and more confident today.

We had zero 5-on-5 pressure
Downie was stopped on a breakaway on the pp
Couturier had an awful period. Bad pass and lazy back check led to the goal
Mason was excellent - the Avs could have potted a couple more

Slow team versus a fast one. This is a hellacious matchup for them. No excuses though.

That was a fantastic period by Luke. Might have been his best period all year. He had Duschene one on one for 10 plus seconds with no help what do you think is going to happen. BTW that was one of Couts worst periods of the season. Caused that 1st goal and looked soft on the puck
