For this offseason, it's the principle of the big name FA coming to NY. Down the line I won't be oppose to it. But they need to prove this rebuiilding junk is for real.

To me, its mind numbing seeing everyone gush over these two when this is exactly how we KILLED ourselves for years. There is no difference, in fact, this would be worse than before.

It can be proven for real if they only have 4 proven vets on their 4 lines.

Who said that? I'm saying "Lets not get the two best players in the NHL and put them on the 2nd line and it'll be just like old time!"

Yay!!!

They don't need to prove anything. The young players that are ready will play. the ones that aren't will be on the farm or junior/college team etc...

Rebuilding isn't about putting the worst team possible on the ice.

Rebuilding doesnt mean your guarentee a player a spot on the team. Make these players compete in trainiing camp, dont give them spots already. Everyone has Giroux on the first line, well let him earn it. l

So your logic is sign the two best players in the NHL because we can't hand kids roster spots?

That's exactly how I feel. And probably exactly why this "rebuilding" stage won't last.

I'm not saying they gotta sign Naslund and Forsberg. I'm saying they're gonna allow the kids that are ready to play play and fill the open spots ( a few in the top 6) with veterans and try to ice a solid team.

Than what the hell is the difference now from getting Jagr/Kovalev/Lindros/Fluery/etc before when we have/had Tyutin/Dube/Brendl/etc? Now its just going to be Forsberg/Naslund/Jagr/Nylander and Kondratiev/Jessiman/etc

You're right on with this argument.

Kondratiev will play, Jessiman isn't ready.

So why are you debating? I never said anything against getting a couple of fill in guys.

No, you just want to sign the best two that are 33 or older to a rebuilding team when the knife that stabbed you was signing those exact players.

No see i dont agree. Signing two players when you only have 5 or so players under contract is differnt than reloading every year.

It's not the signing of players, if the signing of Naslund and Forsberg that is just typical old school Rangers.

I'd rather see it be that way than to go out and do it the way they used to and miss the playoffs by like two spots and leave is all dissapointed as usual. And then we all sit here and piss and moan about how all these star players always end up playing crappy when they get there, they have no heart, they played just for the money and themselves, not the team. Same old, same old.

No, cause there is a difference in signing a couple FA's now and reloading every year.
