Alcohol-Political Compass

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...-in-one-chart/

So I thought this would be fun. We've all seen the political compass sites on here. This study supposedly tells you your political persuasion based on the type of liquor/wine you drink.

I'm a bourbon man (or at least used to be...I don't drink liquor anymore). Supposedly I'm conservative...

I prefer straight vodka to anything. Rum is okay, but not really a fan of other types of liquors. Especially tequila, just thinking about that stuff makes me want to hurl.

Jager is gross as well.

I guess I drink according to my politics.

Having lived and worked in Mongolia for extended periods of time, straight vodka holds a special place in my liver. They drink an ungodly about of that stuff there. Pro tip: Mongolian vodka also doubles as a great cleaning agent.

Low turnout for Jager drinkers is not surprising.

Some of the drinks on that chart are hilarious. If your favorite drink is Arbor Mist or Martini & Rossi, just give up on life now.

Democratic drinkers are more likely to sip Absolut and Grey Goose vodkas
So democrats are people who like crap vodka. I don't apply to anything on there though, all I really drink in general are Wyborowa, Zubrowka and Russian Standard.

It has a wierd aftertaste. It's a rare vodka that sucks both shooting and mixing.

It's probably not the best vodka, but people who say that Grey Goose is crap vodka have truly not had crap vodka.

For store bought stuff, I normally buy Jameson and Kettle One.

My favorite is Apple Pie Shine made in the hills.

Yuri Dolgorukiy is my vodka of choice

I worked at a Russian bar for a year and I highly recommend taking pickles as chasers for vodka: it's fantastic

And yeah, Grey Goose is very average

Drink of choice would have to be Macallan Single Malt Scotch

Big surprise that jagerbomb-swilling guidos are low-turnout voters.

Definitely no correlation for me as a whiskey socialist, though bourbon is usually absent from my cupboard.

and year Smirnoff routinely wins the "best tasting vodka" contests, and its one of the cheapest you can get.

I am a Kentucky native, and so Bourbon it is… though I didn't see my brand (Knob Creek) on the chart…

(ps, Jack Daniels is NOT Bourbon)

Can't say I really drink any alcohol other than beer, which is presumably equally popular among Democrats and Republicans.

Ha ha. Its a terrible habit. Its so damn good to have a nice vodka straight up. When I was in Armenia I was told I drink like a Russian.

I disappoint son. No love for the Moskva?

Zubrowka with apple juice is dynamite.

Truth. I have a bottle of Yuri Dolgorukiy (thanks to Wetcoasters tip).

I have on deck:

Yuri Dolgorukiy
Beluga
Beluga Goldline
Tsarskaya Zolotaya
Snow Queen (Kazahk)
some Kazahk vodka Im not sure of the name.
Schramm (Canadian stuff very good)
Russian Standard for mixes if needed.
Zubrowka

Pickles, basturma, the string cheese which I cant remember the name and the dried sausage are a must.

Average implies that roughly half of the vodka that's made is better, and half is worse. Which is not true for Grey Goose. There is a ****ing lot of rot gut vodka out there.

All I have in my cabinet is one bottle of Bulleit Bourbon and one bottle of Four Roses. Next I'll go back to Blanton's. I'm a sipper, and pretty hard left.

Sniff some bread, bite a pickle after a shot.

It sounds so dumb, but it is so good.
