Time to rectify it now?

Loved him on the Sens... doubt he will be claimed though.

I'm not entirely sure why we waived Z. I personally would have waived Rupp before Zenon. Zenon can at least win faceoffs, not much else but it's something. I still doubt he'll get claimed. Although Pittsburgh claimed Pyatt, so I guess anything is possible.

From Russo:

Now, Yeo said it was because the Wild needed to call up a goalie, which is actually is baloney from the standpoint that there were many other things the Wild could have done if it wanted to keep Konopka here:

Losing Konopka to another team or sending him to Iowa on a one-way contract would open a roster spot if there's a trade brewing. I don't think it's to create cap space though because the Wild's cap space isn't an issue right now as much as the lack of cap space for other teams.

Isles are so bad at faceoffs I'd like for them to claim Z.

I'd take him in Colorado. They've had too many injuries to forwards and Marc-Andre Cliche is terrible at faceoffs. And PK. And lots of other things. At least Konopka wins faceoffs.

Plus a line of Konopka with Bordeleau sounds terrifying.

Can Z play defence at all? With our injuries on the backend right now it just doesn't make sense adding a depth forward Even for free.

I wouldn't. Cliche and Malone are better than Konopka.

I agree he is a top notch win the faceoff center.
As an islander fan I heard nothing but good things ( not direct) about him in the locker room.
300+ penalty minutes his year with NYI and I can't recall him winning any fights. A lot of holding on,alot of punches not reaching the opponent . IMO he should not be regarded as top fighter.
Win the faceoff ,skate to the bench, done. He should find a home.

Calgary should be all over this. Lowest Faceoff% in the league and Zenon could help fix that. Oh, and you could make a line of Westgarth - Konopka - McGratton.

Great handle.

Volpatti with Konopka would be sick. I still get a little mad when I think about Volpatti and how he left Vancouver.

I think he wil go unclaimed. Simply because every other guy I thought would be picked this season didn't. My Leafs have no use for him though

Yes, because the two 4th line centers we already have who are both over 55% in the dot just aren't cutting it.

First thing I thought of was that line. Burke is gonna be all over this like Feaster on a bucket of chicken.

Had Konopka not just taken out Canucks Ryan stanton with a disgusting cheap shot putting him out injured Mike Gillis probably would have signed him.

Would love to have him back.

Wins faceoffs, fights and is a huge team player. Any team would be lucky to have him.

I'll take Orr over him any day.

That's my opinion and our management/coaching staff seems to like what Orr brings to the table over this year and last. Other than face offs, Orr is the better player.

It'll beinteresting to see what kind trade Fletcher may have up his sleeve. Assuming the Z waive is a precursor of a bigger move. Talk around the Buffalo water-cooler is that Ott may be on the block. I hated him when he was with Dallas, which translates to I'd love to have him on the Wild. A third line pairing of Cookie-Ott would have to be 2/3 of the most aggravating line in hockey.

If the Ducks had space, I'd love to have him as a 5th forward. Better than Steckel, IMO
