i like it, the pens need a big guy for the 3rd line and also, he replaces conner who will miss the next 6-8 weeks and maybe even see him as a guy on the second PP to be in front the net since we lack that, just my opinion though

You are correct. The Rangers will not be any better (except financially) since he hasn't dressed in about a month. But don't kid yourself, HE STINKS.

Welp, there you go. That's why Pyatt was claimed. Out of warm bodies and he is one.

Not really a ringing endorsement but still.

I want to look at this positively as possible... maybe someone else wants Glass
He is not better than any of those players and Adams is much better as is Glass.

Whether a warm body, or to pump for info, I don't care.

We can now recover the cap space.

Yaayyyy!

Aww, you think Bylsma will play him in the bottom six. I wish I was as naive.

Lets add up their assets.

They are all the same guy except Pyatt can actually win a board battle.

Hopefully means Glass is gone when the team is healthy.

Another useless move by an increasingly overrated General Manager.

Well, he is a human that can stand on skates and hold a stick so he fulfills the requirements.
Of course Shero's playing with fire quite a bit here as he's another bottom six guy with terrible hands that does not do many things right. Byslma will probably instantly fall in love with him and it'll be hard to separate the two again.

Pyatt is a big guy that has some decent hands in tight.

Just because he isn't scoring for the Rangers doesn't mean he can't score somewhere.

Seems like an ideal fit for him, and the Pens are short on wingers.

For anyone who is having an aneurysm over this...

It is a no risk, low reward pickup that isnt worth the hot air and time you are using b*tching about it. Your lack of perspective is breath taking.

When he plays with confidence, he can add some small amount of grit and physicality. He needs to embrace this side of the game to be more then a cusp third liner. He wasn't terrible on the Sedins line, but I think the accident made up his mind to move on.

Not bad for a waiver pick up, and if he performs well enough to be tried in a top six role, he may do some damage. I'm not holding my breath though, just crossing my fingers.

I don't think Pens fans realize how terribly useless and a stupid he was this year. Slow, dumb, soft, stupid.....but guarantee he scores against the Rangers

Conner got injured so Pyatt shouldn't be much more than a warm body.

Pyatt as a player is "just there." He contributes nothing. He's not bad defensively, but otherwise, he is the definition of useless. Bad skater (idk if he was ever a good skater, but he sure as hell wasn't with NYR), can't pass, can't shoot, doesn't hit, and occasionally will win a board battle. Basically an offensive black hole. By the grace of AV, he actually got a shot at Top-6 minutes when Callahan and Hagelin were on IR to start the season, and still produced absolutely nothing. He basically played himself out of the lineup. And the worst part is he doesn't even look like he cared. Played with no intensity or fire, even after being scratched and having his icetime slashed.

If Pens fans expect anything other than a warm body, you're going to be disappointed.

With that being said, watch him score a hattrick tomorrow night against us (NYR).

Surprised he's still in the league, hasn't been good in years.
That being said I wouldn't be surpised if he scores 10 goals playing with Crosby..

Some posts in this thread make me angry. For a guy that has had to deal with a lot of adversity in his life, Pyatt has carved out a good career as a 3rd liner for himself. Just because he's been bad for 22 games this year doesn't mean he can't bounce back somewhere else. Give the guy a break and let's see how he does in Pittsburgh first.

Take a look at the Pens' injury list. Nobody expects him to do much, he's literally filling a roster spot at this point.
