Like I said, I'm not taking about the interview. It's irrelevant.

Nobody is going to say they did it for 24/7, but they clearly did.

I think your right when it comes to last week or so when they actually agreed on everything, that they waited for HBO and etc. I honestly don't think they would delay for 2 months just for HBO.

Who really knows though.

Maybe not for two months, but I do think they had the deal set a long time ago. Whether it was three weeks ago or six doesn't really matter.

I just don't believe any trade or other signing was holding this up.

well seeing that the cap hit of &m doesnt kick in till next year there was absolutley no reason other than 24/7 that the contract was signed when it was

all for the nhl PR

I honestly believe that Kulemin's status for next year depends entirely on Kulemin. If he wants to be here, he will be signed for 3 million or under which is fair value (anything higher is iffy). Our management is high on him, he plays a lot of important minutes, and he seems to enjoy it here.

That said, Evgeni Malkin is one of his best friends and it's pretty clear that the Penguins have coveted him greatly for a while. The Penguins are also a team much closer to winning a Stanley Cup and a team that would play him in a top six role (which is something nobody really knows if he prefers being an offensive guy or defensive). So I can understandably see why he'd walk away from us.

No thanks on Buff, but Kane would be amazing. I would imagine Kadri or JVR would be main pieces of interest heading the other way...However we're already pretty deep on the wings.

Rumblings indicate that a possible sabre/habs deal could be gathering momentum.

Kane is a winger and we need a top center.

Buff is a top offensive Dman but has no idea how to play defensively.

Neither is what we should be targeting.

see i tend to disagree a little bit - i know our centers aren't great but they are
ok for what they bring. bozak is centering the first line no matter what. the
chemistry is there and a true #1 will cost us too much.

i think we need another top six guy

jvr bozak phil - will not be touched
lupul kadri/holland XXXX - this is where another top six guy is needed
kulemin bolland clarkson - the last couple of games has shown that clarkson/kulie
have some chemistry

I don't think we'll be able to fit Kulie under the cap and I have serious doubts about Kadri being used as a trade chip. I'll believe it when I see it.

Kane would definitely be an upgrade but at what cost?

The Jets would be looking at players like Kadri, Rielly in a package for him so than your robbing from the areas we already need help in.

Eventually a top center or top D will become available and Nonis just needs to make it happen when it does.

Clarkson is the one piece that really is screwing up the puzzle. You dont want a 3/4th liner getting paid 5M for the next 7 years. He also isnt a shutdown man. I would definitely move him before kulemin or McClemment. And if we sign Komarov, and keep D'Amigo (who both provide energy) this move would make a lot of sense.

i would be ok moving lupul. i like him but he seems to get a free pass on everyhthing he does. he was terrible in the winter classic, missed assignements leading to a goal, stupid penalty for which he will be suspended minus -10 on the year.

if that was other players posters would be calling for his head but because its
lupul who has some charisma he gets a free pass. If dion did any of these things there would be a
41 page thread about how terrible he is but lupul just flies under the radar

Habs and Sabres eh
Hmm

Paul Hendrick ‏@HennyTweets 2h
Rumblings indicate that a possible sabre/habs deal could be gathering momentum.

Chris Stevenson ‏@CJ_Stevenson 49m
Chatter between #habs and #sabres regarding Briere has taken place, but doesn't mean a deal is going to get done. He's been a scratch before

David Pagnotta ‏@TheFourthPeriod 20m
Lots of Habs/Sabres talk going on. Haven't heard anything specific yet, but know MTL made it known that Briere (former Sabre) is available

For all those people who want a Kadri-Larsson swap, please watch Larsson play.

He is awful at everything you want in a defenseman. There is a reason he plays the 8th most minutes for Dmen on his team. Yes I repeat he is NJ's #8 Defenseman.

Just a reminder that you must be a vetted "Insider" to post information regarding players in the league not coming from a reliable media source.

Carlyle lighting a fire under Kadri.

There will be no trade as other teams line up offering junk. How many good players have we thrown away, those days are now over as other GM's try to engineer bad trades through the media. Rask,Luongo,Courtnall,Niedermayer,Steen is a long, long list of truly stupid trades.

Kadri is a sophomore who will improve, why trade him for others teams junk when he is on pace for 50 points? You just got punked by Carlyle who knows who to manipulate gullible minds.

I think we'll be able to do it, while still locking up Bolland/McClemment/Gardiner, etc.

However, if we DO lose Kulemin - then it's consequential we re-sign McClemment to have him play 3rd line LW. Those 2 basically are the only forwards who understand the word 'defense' (Bozak/Bolland too).

No way STL will do that trade.

No way we can afford ROR.

Fraser for Simmonds
