Looks like Martin is a little behind in his expected recovery. Although after the knarl he went through with the Devils the last time he broke a bone, I can understand why he wouldn't rush anything.
Thanks Degen looks good. We really don't want him back too soon, that will mean Depres going down. It looks like they're playing Engo at forward for roster reasons as much as anything.

Keep it on Topic please. This is not the Beau Bennett Value Analysis thread.

If you want to talk about him being injury prone (or that it's too early to say he's injury-prone) then stick to his injury history / the facts surrounding his wrist injuries. He did have one in college but I believe it was completely unrelated to his current injury in terms of the type of injury it was.

Well that's basically what he was doing. He was saying Bennett was injury prone, and I'm calling ******** on him. No reason to delete the posts.

If you think Bennett is injury prone based off of his past injuries to date, then actually go back and do the research and find out what those injuries actually were and how many. Catching a rut in the ice, being cut by a teammates skate, and blocking a shot? I mean do people even read the stuff they type sometimes?

No, I agree ... there's no need to rush him back. I wonder if Scuderi may have came back too soon. Then again, his first game back he got nailed by the puck ... can't remember if he was blocking a shot or it was just a bad bounce kind of thing, but I do remember thinking 'Oh, ****, he just came back' ... either way, I agree Martin's better off taking his time and making sure he's 110% before coming back.

Josh Yohe @JoshYohe_Trib

Hello from Calgary. Updates: Martin and Megna are skating in Pittsburgh, Bennett had cast removed from wrist, no surgery for Dupuis yet.

Good news about Bennett, Martin and Megna. Dupuis not so much.

Yohe speculating about Martin.

Josh Yohe ‏@JoshYohe_Trib
No timetable was given on Martin, but he told me he'd be back well before Olympics. So, have to think his return is getting pretty close.

No S. Those are 3 of our best players out. It will be great getting them back.

I should have posted this here too.

Shelly Anderson ‏@pgshelly
Not seeing Joe Vitale on the ice for #Penguins warmup. He had icepack on right wrist area after last night's game.

Josh Yohe ‏@JoshYohe_Trib 1m
Don't see Vitale in pregame skate. Hurt wrist last night.

In regards to Dupuis' ACL.... surgery has to wait until swelling in the knee goes down, right?

yes but if it's not down by now he may literally lose his leg in an amputation accident

I added 20-24 for those who say Ovechkin (40% of the man games lost of PGH) or Kane (35% of the man games lost of PGH) carried their team more than Crosby. Also for the point that the top western teams and Boston have been healthy.

As an aside, why is this thread not stickied given the obvious significance of injuries this year? We have lost almost 20% more man games than anyone else in the league?
Not trying to be a troll but that stat is really flawed. Vokoun counts for all those games as does Glass and whatever other plugs you have had hurt. I know you have had significant injuries mixed in there to with Dupuis Malkin Bennett and Orpik.

Some one on the Bruins board said there is a stat with Ice Time Lost and the Bruins were 5th in the league due to there injuries being to significant line up players. IE Seidenberg Eriksson Kelly Hamilton etc ...

**** off.

Martin
Scuderi
Orpik being attacked by a talentless goon
Letang

all injured on defense

Dupuis
Bennett
Megna
Neal
Malkin

all injured on offense

before we get to the "plugs" and the backup goalie (who was our starter all through the playoffs).

Go play victim elsewhere.

Not playing victim just defending that Boston despite being 24rth on that list is somehow #5 on Ice Time Lost.

Quite the difference for them to jump 19 teams on a stat that is likely more relevant. Pittsburgh has to still be #1

then there was absolutely no reason to even point that out

Or maybe, that stat is wrong. I know its a lot to ask, but don't you think it's unlikely that a team would jump to 5th from 24th once ice time was factored in?

From last week, pens at 3 in terms of lost cap hit and might move up as Horton is healthy for Columbus. Pens lead in average toi lost to injured players.

As for the boston digression, they will move upas they have some injuries, but half their lost cap hit is Savard.
