Why did Methot only play 15 mins a game?

His ice time has been reduced quiet a bit lately.

Solid win though. This 3 game winning streak is first time I got excited watching back and forth pesky Sens hockey in a while.

Btw, Condra was a beauty today. One of the best players on the ice without a doubt.
Still, they weren't as bad as EK/Cowen....

Really? That makes ZERO sense. He was much better than everyone else tonight. I swear the coach is completely hammered on the bench or something.

Ya.. Mac's been on a tequila binge all season it seems. Honestly not surprised about that.

EK is consistently inconsistent. Not a good game tonight. Oh well.

I don't want to talk about 77.

The D pairings make no sense to me.

Definitely a game that could've gone either way. A bit shaky in net and defensive coverage, but we got the 2 points.

Karlsson really needs to take a few deep breaths and refocus himself. He's definitely a lot better than what he's showing out there lately.

Few lucky breaks but overall a solid game. Stone looks slow, but he was definitely fast enough on that partial break and the forecheck. I'm happy with what I saw in his game, even with limited mins. Corvo was just bad, Wiercoch should replace him and be paired with Methot while Ceci goes back to making Phillips look good. I'd actually like to see the lines stay the same and try a Spezza line with stone and Hoffman/Pageau. Really don't want to mess with the chemistry of the 3 top lines we are rolling.

GW
Game-winning goals. After the final score has been determinded, the goal which leaves the winning team one goal ahead of its opponent is the game-winning goal (example: if Team A beats Team B 8-3, the player scoring the fourth goal for Team A receives credit for the game-winning goal).
Note: Goals scored during a shootout are not credited as game-winning goals.

http://proicehockey.about.com/od/lea..._explained.htm

GWG – Game-winning goals – Number of game-winning goals the player has scored (a goal is considered game winning when the team would win the game without scoring any more goals, for example, the third goal in a 5–2 win)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_hockey_statistics

ie Mac with the GWG.

That doesn't make sense. If you were to go up 5-0 and then the other team scores 4 but loses 5-4. Because you never lost the lead, the first goal would be the GWG?

Mac got the GWG, if it wasn't for his goal we would have went to OT

Edit: DrunkUncle Denis explained it well

What an amazing thing it would be if Spezza came back and it clicked with Stone and Pageau as his wingers. Solves so many problems. Both forecheck relentlessly, both can pass and shoot and both have a high hockey IQ. It could work.

If the Zibanejad line keeps playing well we have 3 great scoring lines and a great checking line and Neil to put in with Smith when he gets back.

MacArthur Turris Ryan
Conacher Zibanejad Michalek
Pageau Spezza Stone
Greening Smith Condra/Neil

Cowen Karlsson
Methot Wiercioch
Phillips Ceci
Corvo Gryba

If... If Spezza actually clicked with Stone and Pageau then Maclean can play whatever lines are going that night... And literally role 4 lines. How dangerous would this team be in the playoffs if all 4 of those lines were clicking and you could just roll them?

I hope they don't break up Zibby's line when Spezza returns.

Thought EK defended the rush very well, angled off the winger to the boards and more often than not came away with the puck. Once the puck was deep though, struggled clearing the zone. Didnt have the best of offensive games. Would have been a + player if Andy didnt let the weak goal in from the corner.

Weird how a reasonably solid game is regarded as poor, high expectations.
