What would be traded for Jackson, though?

3rd for Desean is great value. Allows us to target a TE or CB in the first round and a WR in the 2nd.
I'd be OK with a 3rd, I guess ,for the Jets. Anything higher and I'd balk.

If you want a wide receiver who can run 2 routes taking up 10% of your salary cap, go for it.

You could take any decent college level sprinter and train him to do what Jackson does. With the exception of punt returns, and who pays 10.5 million for that?

Hasn't Vick said he wants to be a starter?

I can't imagine him being a good mentor on anything QB related.

I really like DJax as a player & NYJ have the cap room. But he's gotta lose the idea of a new contract before I'd trade for him.

Vick cant stay on the field Jets should stay away as far as Jackson as much as I hate him how is he only worth a 3rd? He comes with a huge salary maybe that's the reason? It doesn't matter if he only runs 2 routes the guy is deadly and tough but a huge show boating punk..Gotta be the quickest guy in the league

For the record, Lewan's "charges" are for getting in some kind of fight with a bunch of Ohio State fans out on the street the night of Michigan's loss to Ohio State. No weapons, no guns, no serious injuries. Clearly it's immature and he should know better, but he's a 22/then 21 year old kid. If the Giants think he's a potential career tackle, that sure as **** ain't takin him off the their' draft board. In fact, I think a lot of teams actually look for that kind of fire in their big dogs.

Jets fans:

If Bridgewater falls to you in round 1 would you want him?

Giants should still absolutely take him if he falls

Absolutely not to Desean. I wouldn't want him for 10M a year if he was a free agent, nevermind paying him 12M a year AND a third round pick.

This ****er dogged it an entire year because he wasn't happy with what the Eagles were paying him. He is the worst of Revis and Holmes all wrapped up into one.

There's no guarantee the Jackson changes his ways. I'd argue that, as a whole, players just refuse to change their bad habits more often than they choose the maturity route. But for a 3rd round pick (maybe even 4th), I think it would be worth the risk.

Desean will be 29 next year when he is a free agent. Our offense will certainly be run heavy, meaning his numbers will be deflated. I don't think he'll have much leverage to try and command 12, or even 9 million a year, on the open market.

I'm hopeful that he can mature, and under this seemingly mature f.o with a coach who is beloved by his players, he might be able to look aside just $$s. But if not, he could just be a place holder until a WR we draft in this year's draft develops. Oftentimes, WRs benefit from spending a year learning on the sidelines than being thrown into the fire. At the very least, DeSean could benefit us in that way.
If I'm the Jets, I don't waste my time.

If only someone with common sense would be in charge of the Jets...

Why do it? Are you expecting to compete for the Superbowl this season? Why trade a 3rd and pay him all of that money if you expect he will most likely walk after the season. Why not just wait until he does that to another team?

I wouldn't use 'tough' to describe a guy who has been benched for alligator arms and an unwillingness to go over the middle.

If it's that easy then why isn't Stephen Hill producing more?

I get some of the criticism of Jackson but to pretend like he's not a real good player is just stupid.
