FWIW, I do think that we will shy away from Lewan in the 1st. If he somehow dropped into the 2nd, I don't think we'd hesitate to take him. But I think the arraignment (as flimsy as it seems) would remove him from the 1st for us. Could always be wrong.

Beat writers saying Beatty might start on pup & both Beatty & Snee might not be ready at start of camp.

So Zack Martin or Morgan Moses in round 1?(assuming no Lewan)

Yeah it's ridiculously deep with no clear #1 QB. It could be chaos up top.

If the QBs drop & we can't trade back to team trying to get 1 then this could really suck.

Jets cut Sanchize. No surprise there. They also reportedly signed Vick. No surprise there either, unfortunately.

Sanchez never was consistent or never really "wowed" anyone as a Jets QB. Yes, he led the team to 2 AFC championship games, but he really dropped off since then. His last 2 years were largely forgettable.

Both of those picks would be horrendous over Lewan. I'd throw up.

That's being kind. I was one of his most staunch supporters during his tenure, and even I'll admit that his last season under center was an absolute catastrophe. Yeah, he didn't have much talent at WR, and yeah, the line kid of sucked....but ******* was he awful.

In retrospect, it's clear to me that Sanchez didn't have what it takes to be a star. I still maintain, however, that he could have been a quality starter had the team done a better job surrounding him with talent. The line couldn't keep him upright, he had no receivers, his OCs were ****, and his confidence was completely shot. He went from a kid with promise to an absolute head case that was completely lost between the hashes. Ah well. Same Old Jets.

After the contract you gave him, you have to give Beatty another shot to find his game. Not really sure how he dropped off so severely in one year. Schwartz was a great signing and hopefully Snee/Beatty can show that they still have it in them. Pugh should be solid at RT for the near (and hopefully longterm) future.

Either way, John Jerry and JD Walton should add some depth on top of Dallas Reynolds, Brandon Mosley, James Brewer, and Eric Herman. Not all guys will make the team so hopefully the ole "training camp competition" can find some adequate backups.

I'd still like to grab a center in the 2nd or 3rd. You should be able to find a top level center where the Giants draft. BPA/trade down in round 1 as long as the BPA is DL/WR/TE/LB. Center in round 2.

Jordan Matthews in Round 3 if he's available and you didn't already take a WR. I have a feeling he's going to go earlier than that, the lack of talk around him kind of confuses me. 6'3, led combine in bench press, 4.45 40 time, good hands, related to Jerry Rice, most catches in SEC history, and he actually tries to block. Hell, I might jump on him in the 2nd. He's easily my biggest sleeper.

It'd have to be a trade back. Again it's assuming Lewan is off their board.

Dottino says he was told by "a league personnel guy"(i would assume NYG or NYJ since he's in NY) that Lewan is dropping to late 1st/early 2nd area now on boards.

That's a lot of hyperbole, don't kill the messenger.

Yeah, I saw it, too. I don't really know how true it is or if teams are trying to posture a bit. We won't know until the draft, really.

Ugh, John Jerry.

I actually feel for Mark Sanchez. In the end, he was setup to fail. The Jets just have a really hard time developing QB's. Hard to win in this league if you have a revolving carousel at the QB position.

No. Very much no. He didn't lead them anywhere. Sanchez simply didn't get in the way of what was a stellar running game and outstanding defense. That defense and running game is what took them to two AFC Championships.

Jerry teased a coworker or two and wanted to screw his sister.

End of the world.

Can he block?

Sanchez didnt live up to the expectations following the two Conf. Championships. He played a big part in those runs, but it made sense that you could see him getting better.

He didnt. Instead, he wore a headband, cried and ran into somebody's ass.

He'll be a Raider one day.

They dont, thats why he only go 25k guaranteed.

Tho Jerry seemed to be more of the follower in the bullying than anything.

He starts acting up, he gets the boot. Not much invested in him

Preseason PUP doesnt really mean a whole lot. Can come off that at any time.

Jerry has played LT (ok, not very well, but probably passable for a game)

I think they may still add a swing tackle in FA.

Moves really well, naturally very powerful. Has everything you want, just not a ton of experience at center. Been watching his tape the past couple days, if he is there in the second I would be shocked if they pass on him
