Pacioretty is on fire ! Everything he snipes goes in lately. It probably has to do with the Olympics. He's pumped up. Play him with Pleks, play him with Chuck, and they'd have DD's points, probably more.

I finally get to watch a game! Not for a happy reason, but that's irrelevant, I'm trying to look on the bright side of things.

I have to miss the first period as usual, stupid work.

If Anderson sports a ridiculous save percentage, sure. But otherwise I doubt it. We strongly out-chanced them in that series, but sometimes a hot goalie can shut down a team. Like what Halak did vs Pittsburgh and Washington a few years ago.

Hopefully we see Subban totally outplay Karlsson again like he did in the playoffs. Or is EK still only 70 percent? I guess it will depend on how he plays.

Sens are not that good this year yet they soundly beat the Habs 5-1 earlier this year. This game worries me.

I'm not Diaz' biggest fan, but he's been our 4th best and most consistent defenseman this season behind PK, Gorges, Markov. Why the F would he be scratched? This isn't ****ing Bingo Therrien its the NHL.

Why not go with
Bouillon-Subban (Subban can carry him..)
Markov-Gorges
Emelin-Diaz

or

Emelin-Subban
Markov-Gorges
Bouillon/Murray - Diaz
??

Why go back with Markov-Emelin, when it hasn't worked at all this season?

Edit: Murray-Gorges is a joke ...

If both teams play disciplined hockey, the advantage tips to Montreal's favour, based on superior talent and goaltending. Habs problem has been the undisciplined stretches, where the D is anemic and/or poorly positioned, and the offence uncreative and disorganized. If we're 'off', we should be worried about playing any team.

Diaz will be traded to Buffalo with Briere for three draft picks and a bunch of old Darcy Regier business cards he left in his desk. Book it.

Diaz is having a weird, erratic season. Half the time he's an efficient clearing, passing & skating machine, and the other half he's the class chess-geek, afraid to get a sweat stain on his jersey. Don't know what the issue is, but his occasional lack of engagement drives me nuts.

He and Emelin were a huge part of last season's success as both took big leaps forward in development. This season, Diaz has been on/off and Emelin has fallen back.

No Spezza tonight. Not sure if that's good or bad. Expect a motivated Bobby Ryan..playing with i-n-t-e-n-s-i-t-y.

Because he should have been scratched a few games ago for being useless.

I am not a fan of Diaz in any way but he plays just well enough to keep the vultures off of his back. He is also a RD which is in high demand. I am actually surprised he is sitting. He plays solid on the PK.

Bouillon may be 37 but his skating is still strong as well as his low center of gravity physique. He does not hurt this team on the Bottom pairing. In fact MT will probably play Frankie with PK.

My biggest concern is Emelin who has hit a wall. Coming back from a major injury, not training camp and playing on the right side was eventually going to catch up with Emelin and it has.

Prust had a terrible game and gets rewarded to play with Galchenyuk and Eller.

Would rather see Brière with them or Moen.

At least Briere gets to play centre.

With terrible wingers.

Shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that Therrien is extremely inept at coaching.

Bournival is not terrible. I'd rather he played on Eller's line instead of Prust.

Mostly agree. The issue with Bouillon has been more mental than physical. There's an opposing forward in the slot and there's Bouillon, ten feet away and daydreaming about tomorrow's brunch plans. The other issue is his usage, which isn't really his fault. He has no business in an offensive role.

I was a big fan of both Diaz and Emelin, which makes this season difficult to watch, as both players look like they're re-learning what they did so well nine months ago. Emelin's really a key player. There will be a nice upswing on our defence when he shakes off the cobwebs, but so far, half his games have been downright awful.

Surprised to see Player 61 sitting out for Mtl. I also agree on Prust, hopefully the 2nd half is where we start seeing the true player he can be.
