Great for anaheim, good deal for Cogs. We helped him build his value and he took less than would have got in open market.

Awesome. I was thinking 3.25-3.5 based on how important he is to our lineup, especially once Koivu retires.

Reading Cogliano's comments after last night's game, he definatley hinted at this.

edit: Elliot Friedman reports 4 years 12 million in total.
good on him-- class act when an oiler and has never bashed how he was treated with the team-- also is a goto guy for the coaches-- if you ask him to play net or drive the zamboni he would do it without question

Because they have the worst front office in all of pro sports. As usual they managed to convince 80% of the sheep fans that he was horrible and should be tossed.

I'm not usually in favour of longer term deals with complimentary players, as they need to replenish those types of players with cheaper players to afford your core players.

But Cogliano at $3M for 4 years is hard to find any fault with.

He certainly would have attracted a higher cap hit as a UFA. I"m assuming he got some sort of NT protection as part of agreeing to a lower cap hit. He obviously valued staying with the Ducks.

Good signing by the Ducks.

Nope. No NTC or NMC.

Projected for nearly 50 points on the 3rd line. Unbelievable! Can't believe he'll only cost 3 mil!
