we have as good a shot as any other team. Maybe Deader told him some good things about LA

This will be a playoff team. The old team was, (subtract injuries). But then the glass is always half full for me.

Here are 3 names, names I would prefer to Floppa.

Naslund, Mogilny or even Modano. I know some of you are jumpin' up and down screaming "NO!". I am not sure Foreskin gets the calls in LA that he got in Denver. He's wearing out fast because of how he has played.

My druthers, Offensive D, and another wing.

Reaper, we're going to hold you to your promise!

I would love to sign Forsberg, even with the injuries.

Don't get me wrong I would love to have Forseberg. I just don't see it happening.

But if we do get Forseberg, and he's stays healthy, do you think that makes us an instant contender?

This I will have to see!

I have a sinking feeling that if Demitra is not enough to lure Ziggy back then Reaper's little prediction just might be right. Tomorrow is another day.

I think Colorado is cleaning house to make room for the new duo of Forsberg/Naslund. But that's just my thought as they are friends.

I think he's just trying to say that you're putting palffy down for something foppa is very good at doing...thats all.

^^^^

This lineup is a bubble playoff contender. New rules or not, this lineup will not get beyond the first round unless Garon makes like Hasek 99.

LA has the resources to do better and will.
Disagree...I think there come a time when all the planets line up together and tells the Kings to go with the youth. Its in the planets dude ...j/k.

The reason I think brown and cammy should do well is because they've had a full year in the ahl...not nhl seasoning mind you but with 2 very good players in each line, I think those 2 will blossom...

To those saying 4.5 was a little too much for Demitra.

Our former friend Straka got 3 million with the Rangers.
Now that is overpaying.

Buzzkill!

"Has had a history of getting hurt, specifically concussions."

Hopefully the Kings will make him wear the most protective helmet on the market (I think they should do that for all newcomers, lol).

I guess I shouldn't say I hope we can sign Kariya after that remark. Then again we would probably have to put Ziggy in a bubble if we resigned him. LOL

The Sharks Board is reporting that Kariya is signing there Someone is saying that they heard it on ESPN but will be announced tomorrow.

Could this mean we will get Ziggy and Stumpel for a good price?

Great, another ESPN report. Didn't ESPN "report" Modano to sign with the Bruins this morning? LOL

I read the Demitra article on yahoo, and it quotes Demitra saying he hopes he gets the chance to play with Ziggy and then goes on to say that DT is not finished and he is still trying to sign Palffy. Andy Murray says he's not sure if Demitra will be playing center or wing.

Man I think those two would be awesome together!

I really hope we push for Kariya if the price on Ziggy starts to go up. They are similar players but Kariya is younger and he has something to prove after leaving Southern California and having a poor season with the Aves. His stock is low compared to where Ziggy's is at right now and he could come cheaper. Even though he was a Duck I always liked Kariya because he has this presence on the ice that not too many other players have. What really stood out to me was when he was drilled by Scott Stevens in the Finals a few years back and he was out. It literally looked like he was dead on the ice but he insisted to get back in the game later. And what did he do? He went out there like there was no tomorrow.

If Dustin Brown is on the top line the Kings will not make the playoffs. There are still a ton of guys available, wouldn't mind seeing a #1 center so that the Kings are set at center even with injuries. Put Demitra on RW then go and sign Mogilny pushing Brown down to the 3rd or 4th line where a kid like that belongs. I don't think they will spend more than a mil on a dman with the corps they have already and they need to sign a backup goalie, Frolov, Corvo, Cammy, Belanger and Lehoux. Doing all this under 39 mil looks impossible but I like the Demitra signing.

absolutely disagree with this assessment...

mogilny is in his last leg and should not even be considered...

brown with demitra and hopefully palffy...along with conroy, frolov and cammy can get this team to the playoffs...the 2 veterans in each lines can and will bring up the rookie's play and they will blossom...

Well, after the Demitra signing, Taylor stated that LA has $25m tied up (including the Frolov, Cammalleri and Corvo QOs), which would leave us about $7-10m to fill out the rest. Throw in another scoring forward (Satan, Palffy, Kariya, etc) and a PP QB (Hamrlik, Berard or Schneider) and they Kings are looking pretty good.

Dustin Brown will not be seeing 1st line duty this season, that'll be Demitra, Frolov, Robitaille and the other winger we get. Brown may see some time on the second line, which is just fine with me.

I think Brown should see more time on the 2nd and 3rd lines.
I think a 3rd line of Kostopolous-Belanger-Brown would be pretty awesome.

Frolov-Demitra-Palffy?
Kariya?-Conroy-Cammaleri
Kostopolous-Belanger-Brown
Cowan-Armstrong/Avery-Klatt/Avery

Norstrom-Visnovsky
Miller-Gleason
Dempsey-Corvo?
