The Bottom 9

Our forwards minus MacArthur, Turris, Ryan, and Spezza have combined for 20 points in the last 4 games, and pretty much everyone is contributing (I think Pageau and Neil are the only ones without a point) even Kassian has an assist. This is in stark contrast to the start of the year when we were a one line team.

Spezza hasn't played in the last 4 games so how can he have any points?

That line makes way too much sense to think they'll be kept together.

I really hope they give these lines at least 10 games because i think that is our best line-up in my opinion.

I'd love to see that, absolutely no way Mac scratches Neil when he's healthy though.

Neil doesn't sit, ever. Greening, Pageau or Condra can rotate out.

Otherwise, good lines, though Spezza will not be treated as a 3rd line, let alone 4th line by an opposing team's defensive scheme. I do understand that it makes some people feel better to post lineups this way.

People need to understand the importance of a guy like Neil. Sometimes it's not what you see, it's what you don't see. It's when you don't see a hit happen because a player dishes it off out of fear. Guys like Matt Kassian keeps players on the other team from taking liberties on your stars. Think Brian Boyle/Matt Carkner. Kassian you can afford to sit because not all teams come with a serious heavyweight enforcer.

Think Scarface. "You need guys like me! You need guys like me so you can point your ****in' fingers and & say Das de bad guy!"

We should role with these lines,
Who ever plays best on the day gets first line minutes and so on.
If everyone is shining they play equal

Honestly Neil shouldn't be playing at this point. He's a detriment to the team, just takes penalties, hardly even enforces. I know he's a leader and all that but he's not a good hockey player and makes our team worse

Despite what he brings in "intangibles", tangibly he has been terrible. There has been quite a bit of data mining lately on Neil's background numbers, they are very bad this season. He really has been dragging down his linemates in possession metrics.

I understand that hes not helping us put pucks in nets......but I dont wanna see what happens to this team if we face say Boston in the playoffs and we dont have him....itd be open season and thered be dick all we could do about it.......and dont even try to use Kassian as a potential stop gap there because hes an even bigger black hole then Neiler......the only way we dont need Neil is if we get someone else whos even better at his role but I doubt that happens sooooo......we NEED him.

Totally cracked me up. Sounds like a joke but couldn't be anything more closer to the truth

Could you imagine the field day that a healthy Spezza would have against 3rd pairings and 3rd/4th line attention? Huehuehue.
