Handzus was the second line center on a cup winning team.

Holy cow, wasn't paying attention to other scores tonight. Stars are wrecking the Leafs 7-1.

Kessel, Bozak, JVR combined for a -11 on the evening.

?

So? He wasn't the second best C, Del Zotto was their 3rd best defenseman in terms of play, not just because he was on the 2nd pairing.

So would you trade Leddy for Klein?

Give me your ranking for their blue line that year.

CBJ looks amazing (obviously) really fun to watch them. Horton had a filthy deke + snipe, Dubinsky looked amazing (he should be on team USA), Bobrovsky is making it seem like his Vezina season wasn't a fluke

Sharks ink Marleau and Thornton to three-year extensions worth $6.66m and $6.75m per year respectively.

I would probably put Staal ahead of MDZ any other year, but he was hurt for a large portion of it.

Flip Staal and MDZ and we are in agreement.

Agreed. Good for the Sharks to lock 'em down for a few more years.

No, but I think Leddy is going to be an all star.

That honestly feels cheap to me at this point.

The Sedin's are not on the same level as these two as a pair and Thornton is significantly than the other three. Maybe 3 or 4 years ago people would take the Sedin's but they have not aged well. Thornton and Marleau are still top tier players.

(ltwo years ago/last year/this year)

Daniel Sedin 67 (72 games)-40-40
Henrik Sedin 81-45-40
Thornton 77-33-47
Marleua 64-31-47

Thorton and Marleau are having better years so far, but they certainly haven't out performed the Sedin's in recent history.

For that year? I can't. Staal wasn't that great until the playoffs.

Even still, MDZ was a top 4 Dman on a contender at the age of 21? But yet you say he will NEVER be a top 3 on a contender. Seems odd, because he has shown to have that potential.

And some other GM's might think differently. They may also think MDZ is going to be an all-star, he was pretty close to one in 2011-12.

Klein will probably not be an all-star in his career.

The Sedin's are not good defensive players and they aren't physical. Looking at their overall games, no question who I'd rather have. And on the ice, I don't know what it is but they just aren't as dynamic as they used to be.

I wouldn't call any of those 4 defensive dynamos. None of them kill penalties. If you want to go by +/- and ATOI, Sedin's are better in both stats. This year the Sedin's don't look as good because they are in Torts terrible ultra-defensive system. He's basically wasting them.

...additionally Marleau and Thornton are far less irritating than the Sedins...so there's that.

Poor Nystrom. 4 goals and his team still may not win.
