I am indifferent. When these type of games happen they fall back to their old Canuck ways of 'refs are against us' and all that. And the gooning up against a skill team. It is rather predictable. Their fan base just resorts to that instead of looking in the mirror at the team they have assembled. Remember the days of Luongo trades for a first rounder + a lot more? They burned me at the stake when I said that would never happen (got an infraction for basically not agreeing). I think they are on the downward side of their cycle and I am not really worried about them. Again, indifferent.

Bolland back to skating in full pads. Good to hear.

Nice. Hope he comes out strong once he's game ready.

He skated yesterday but looked pretty bad. He's still a ways away from being ready.

Neglect it? No. Worry about it? No. It can't hurt to upgrade, but trading a player who hasn't even stepped foot on NHL ice for a guy who has been a key cog in 2 Cups and provides something we need (defense from the forward position, and physicality)? I'm in.

Even if/when they totally suck it's hard for me to be indifferent to them like I am say... the Preds or the Jets.

It is hard for me to think of them as hated rivals and I don't really root for them to fail because I've come to actually like Luongo, but I still pay attention to them on the off chance they'll offer me some amusement at their misfortune.

Speaking of... apparently Tom Sestito got a new nickname the other night for the LA game goonery: " a boxing hobo on skates" http://www.edmontonsun.com/2014/01/1...hobo-on-skates

What's really fun is watching the Canucks cling to their former glory. Despite their game 7 SCF run in 2011, hidden behind that was their breakdowns against us in that first round and that absolute beating they took from Boston. Look at the last two playoff runs and you'll see a Nucks teams that extremely overachieved in their run to the finals.

Their core is simply not good enough, their depth is depleted with no true signs of future help. Gillis has not been able to re tool on the fly like the Ducks or Hawks have. They just refuse to properly shake things up. They got 4 more years of the Sedins and 8 years of Luongo, guys like Bieksa and Burrows. Need some new faces over there.

You take HD feeds for granted until you're watching the Senators play the Habs on a 50" tv in standard definition. It's honestly hard to watch. Isles against the Bolts it is.

It's not over yet, but with John Tavares picking up an assist tonight that means Patrick Kane is no longer 2nd in the NHL in points.

Really is too bad Kane's been playing 4-on-5 (effectively) for half the season. He'd be 5+ up on Tavares if not for Handzus.

Four games on my laptop, one on the tube.

Life is good, even if I don't have one.

Stalberg played just 7 minutes tonight

Stats for year now

43 GP with 6 goals and 8 assists for 14 pts while being a -12 (2nd worst +/- among forward on Preds)

Kings down St. Louis.
Albertan woes continue, with Minnesota handling Edmonton and Winnipeg currently whooping Calgary
Isles over Tampa Bay in the shootout and Montreal wins over Ottawa early in OT.

Isles are starting to play better hockey

I wont be shocked if they continue to improve and take a wildcard spot

In his last shift of the night with like 50 seconds left in OT he had one of his patented speed rushes that gets the announcers all excited and then he shoots and misses the net badly. Got me kind of sentimental it did.

Certainly doesn't hurt that both the Eastern wild card slots and both the #2 and #3 seeds in the Metro are very attainable.

That being said, the Isles have to leapfrog a lot of teams to get in. Just not thinking they'll be able to make up that much ground.

Gotta love 1-0 games, especially when the teams you want to lose more end up getting the goose egg.

If the Isles make the playoffs, Tavares will win the Hart.

Everything about the Oilers is so awful right now. I can't recall in recent memory a team that was worse defensively. I'm starting to feel bad for their fans.

I saw "Wildcard spot" and had to do a double-take. Still forget sometimes about the new format.

This is true, and exemplifies all that is wrong with the mindset behind Hart voting.
