DW's statement on Couture

"Been playing with injury for weeks". "Will know better recovery time after procedure."

I'm gettin' tired of all these motha****in injuries on the motha****in' Sharks...

Seriously.. Killing me. Will we ever see the pure 100% roster? Will we assemble like the old school power rangers?

Amazing how lethal his shot is with a wrist that needs surgery. I expect Weber like shots burning holes through the net when he gets back.

Didn't Cooch block a shot with his hand against Chicago? If it's the same one, I'm sure it didn't help. lol

3 to 4 weeks would allow him to get 4 or. 5 games in before Olympic break. I hope that's the plan otherwise couture won't play for what? Almost 2 months

Logan Couture ‏@Logancouture 1m

Tough couple days. Thanks for all the kind words. Proud to have even been in consideration. Can't wait to get back on the ice!

Wow! An AHL team sprinkled with a few of stars. Now we have one legitimate top line and one legitimate 4th line.

Jumbo on how team will react:
Quote:
"It's tough," Sharks captain Joe Thornton said of the loss of Couture. "He plays so many key minutes for us. I think we're probably going to have to, by committee, get those minutes and step up in his absence. I'm not sure how long he's going to be out for, but it's going to be a huge blow for us."

I blame Dustin Brown. And Havlat for good measure.

Also **** **** ****. It's one thing to replace a bottom sixer with a Worcester forward but ain't nobody can replace Couture.
Probably just grips it, rips it, and bears the pain.

Aren't we gonna call someone from Worcester to be our 13th forward? Pelech maybe?

you know, was it kind of a **** move by stevie y to diss logan like that? i mean he had a gift wrapped chance to let him down softly but it seems like he took the opportunity to let him know he didn't think very highly of him.

@seangentille said Doug Wilson & Couture called Yzerman last night to inform him of the surgery but to reassure him that Couture would be ok
Good to know that the 3-4 week recovery time is probably accurate.

I hope Logan takes it personally and vows to show team Canada what a mistake they made.

I hope Rick Nash is his usual useless self and they lose to USA by a goal. Nash has not earned a place on that team and snubbing Couture is idiotic.

The fact they picked Nash is still boggling my mind...

Let's keep this about Couture's injury. Olympic talk can stay in the Olympic thread.

With the Olympics allowing pro players, I believe it is hard on the selection committees to avoid any resemblance of an all-star game. Broadcasting contracts are the largest source of revenue, and sometimes what sells is better than what wins just like the all-star game.
