I know the KHL plays good hockey, but when Brandon Bochenski and Kyle Wilson are among your top 5 scorers, I think it's safe to say Semin would shine in the KHL and be a slam dunk member. So really he's strictly off the team because he plays in NA.

Belov made team Russia?
He's on Edmonton's bottom pairing, and Edmonton is the NHL's bottom pairing...

there is no such thing as "political" here. deal with it. Syomin has a sup-par season for his standard. obviously bad enough to scare off the NT coaching staff. I don't like the decision, but it's theirs to make.

Stupid to leave Semin off the roster. Not surprised about Kuznetsov.

It's not. That's what ppl in NA don't understand. Yiou can't judge by names. Cheechoo

Does this logic also imply that Kyle Wilson > Kovy and Radulov?

He didnt play that well there during the lockout and guys like evander Kane or lupul couldn't cut it. It's a different style of hockey. Not saying he shouldn't have made it though.

and that evander kane is a plug

I really don't think that the D is bad at all. Apart from droping Semin I really like the roster!

This decision is based on the fact that the KHL defenders didn't deliver in the Channel One Cup...

I think Nichushkin will be on the 3d line and Soin will be a sub.

Not saying Radulov isn't a good player, just don't think he shines as the light gets brighter. Of course Radulov should be on the team, but my point is there are guys on the team not nearly as skilled or versatile as Semin. His experience and well rounded game is designed for this tournament. It's really a dumd move to leave him off and makes the Russian team worse.

Look, in terms of the Canes, I'm glad he's off, he can rest and play pissed off hockey the rest of the year. The disrespect of leaving a top level talent that has done a lot for Russian hockey over the last decade in an Olympics in his home country is ridiculous.

So it does imply that K. Wilson > Rads

You must have missed Semin's time in the KHL during the lockout.
I agree that he should be on the team, but that "Bochenski and Wilson" argument is invalid. Every case is unique.

Glad to see Nuke made the team. Here's hoping he gets some playing time. I'm gonna have to pay closer attention to Russia this year.

As of 2013, any follower of the Russian NT knows that Rads on the NT >> Semin on the NT
