If the men choked like this I'd be annoyed but nobody cares about women's hockey until once every 4 years, people will make a big deal of this because they won but nobody actually cares that much.

5 on 3 in overtime? Of a gold medal game? That's ridiculous.

In many events winning the silver medal is great, but it really seems to suck with team sports.

The only thing I'm annoyed about is now I have to see a bunch of Canadians (especially on twitter) act like they give a **** about womens hockey and be all excited about the win when if they lost they would act like they didn't care.

The U.S. goalie deserves the blame for that second goal. Playing the puck to the slot is about as incompetent as it gets.

I only saw the last five minutes so I don't know if she played well but that goal was her fault

Women's hockey refs have always been a joke. Some of you may be too young to remember 2002 when the refs called 8 consecutive penalties against Canada in the women's gold medal game.

The slash make-up call on the US in OT tonight was a joke.

The game almost ended with the Canadian goalie pulled because a ref got in the way.

NHL refs should be calling these games.

Canadians definitely would have cared. I guarantee you that most offices were huddled around tvs/monitors across the country today. Win or lose, there would have been an opinion.

I said the same thing. Apparently she's a great goalie, but great goalies would've smothered that puck..

Some people on this site are unbelievable. You know if something similar to this happened tomorrow with Canada on the losing end there would be an uproar.

That Wickenheiser dive at the end was hilarious. I guess they teach that stuff from the ground up in Canada.

Really? I'm not saying you're wrong, but thats certainly not the way people make it seem. I didn't hear a single thing anywhere on the internet about womens hockey until a few days ago and I doubt I'll hear anything about it after today for a few years. Either way, I'm not worried about this, all I care about is the men winning. It's just annoying to see a bunch of people come out of nowhere on twitter suddenly caring about this when a few of them I know 100% for a fact didn't care until they won.

Canadians care about women's hockey only during the World Championships and during the Olympics. I'm not surprised that you wouldn't hear consistent chatter; what's there to talk about during periods that aren't the WC or OG?

people are being so ridiculous right now in the main boards thread.

stuff like.. "THIS IS OUR GAME".

they absolutely deserve to be brought down tomorrow in the Men's game.

probably won't happen though.

That's what I'm saying, people are acting like this is some massive deal, but that's ridiculous when it's something they only care about for one week every four years.

So, should Canada ice the women's team against US tomorrow?

I haven't seen the penalty yet, but by all accounts it was pretty questionable. I hate (on either side as a fan) for such an important game to be decided like that.

It's their game that relies heavily on the US. You know considering the top league in the world consists of 23 US franchises and 7 Canadian. Also, the game today is so different then when Canadians changed it from European ice hockey.

Btw all hockey has origins in field hockey which has roots in Greece. Ice hockey is Greek everyone!!!

To make such statements is idiotic and arrogant. Yet Americans are labeled as such. Guess what Candians are arrogant as **** (especially those from Quebec) and so are Russians and so are Americans and so is virtually ever group for one reason or another.
