Anaheim...but they can only offer 5 or 5.5, if he wants to play with his brother.

Don't count out the Canucks, rumors have Nonis shopping Sopel to free up some room, as he already let Malik go.

Ducks might have to trade away a player to free cap space for Niedermayer. Burke has remained silent which indicates to me, the guy is up to something.

I don't think he was ever even rumored to be going there.

I think it's the Vancouver, Calgary, Anaheim, Pittsburgh, and Jersey now.

Epp was on Vancouver radio awhile ago and said that they were still actively talking to Vancouver and Calgary (they had stopped with Edmonton).

But with Vancouver signing Naslund, Calgary with their UFA signings (they can only offer up 5 million id bet) you'd have to think that Anaheim and New Jersey are the favorites right now.

Although I'm praying for Calgary right now (I'll justify it as Sutter answering the Pronger to Edmonton deal...ugh.)

I think he'd love to move Sykora and his 3.116 million.

True, but Niedermayer has said that he wants to play out West, and that he wouldn't mind going back to Jersey. Niedermayer in Montreal would stun me as much as the Pronger trade, but not as much as a Forsberg signing would.

I think if the Pens want him, they could get him if they offer the most.

Even if the Canucks have signed Naslund, it doesn't put them out of the Niedermayer sweepstakes. There are salaries they can cut/move to make space for him.

With all that has transpired today, I'm feeling a little more confident that Nieds may stay in Jersey. If he does go anywhere else. I hope it's Calgary. But man do I hope that he stays a Devil!!!

My sentiments exactly. After reviewing the payrolls across the board, I'm thinking New Jersey could be top-3.

There's no freaking way Niedermayer gets the max.

Radio station in Vancouver is reporting it will be official tomorrow. Take it for what it's worth.

honestly, if pronger went to edmonton, they still got a lot of cap space left. Schremp and Pouliot can definitly play... rita will hopefully make the team, thats 3 forwards upfront, sign 2 decent role guys, neidermayer could definitly play in edmonton still, i think hed be a great fit there with pronger now, would be one of the top pairing in the league, they just need 1-2 more solid defensemen who wont give up a lot and arent expensive..

No way Edmonton has two $6+ mil defensemen tied up long term. That's over 30% of your salary cap tied up into two players.
