Why not play the hot goalie? Backs has been all over the place this year.
We can't forget his other starts. If you wanna go off of career highlight starts I STILL nod towards backs.

Oh and way to represent UMD Fonz!

Cookie did a good job screening the goalie.

9 goals for Fontaine on the year.

Pretty damn good compared to other guys that are getting more ice time.

Also he's a +6.

Friggin puck is bouncing all over the place again. There needs to be a college for some of these guys that manage the arenas to go to for ice management or something.

If I'm Yeo, I start him next game against the Avs as a reward.

Last I heard Backstrom was just sore. Where did you hear he had tears in various key parts of his body's muscular structure? Because that sounds startling.

Interesting idea...

If McDonalds has a university, why can't ice-makers?

I'm a UMD homer. So I was in his camp since last year, but college pride aside he has been a nice surprise and looks like he has a real chance to be a decent bottom 6 forward.

Didn't he have a tear in his abdomen or something at the end of last season?

The league should crack down on it where possible and come up with a consistent standard that all arenas should be able to adhere to.

That said, it will still be tough for busy arenas like Stables Center and Madison Square Garden to adhere to it because those venues are just so densely booked.

Pretty sure it's been on one of the beat writers twitter lately or some quoted article.

I don't recall.

I thought his injuries typically involved his hips?

My guess is he didn't start last game, needed rest to ensure he wasn't re aggravating the injury from last season.

Not to beat a dead horse, but it's pretty consistently been the case that a lot of the warm-weather arenas have terrible ice quality. IIRC Phoenix, San Jose, Atlanta (pre-Jets), and especially Miami are/were all known for having some pretty rough ice.

Why does LaPanta keep ignoring the camera and staring directly at the side of Russo's head while he talks?

This is really unnerving.

Nice patience on that goal. It was also an example of why Yandle isn't really an elite defenseman, despite all those points. I've watched him for all eight years of his caree, and he will never grow out of that type of giveaway.

Whats his face on HNIC does the same thing in coaches corner when asking questions to whats his face...mister fashion disaster. It draws the viewers attention to the person being "interviewed".

Maybe it's just because nobody pays attention to Ron MacLean anyway when one of Don Cherry's suits is on, but I swear this was, like, way worse. On Coach's Corner it's never that close nor a creepy intent stare. This was like the kind of thing you expect Kesler to go do to someone else's locker room interview.

It's probably easier to make them all consistently bad.
