It's amazing how well Ducks and Penguins are doing with the injuries they have. Avs have been lucky with injuries this year. About time.

Man games lost:

1. Pittsburgh 253
2. Anaheim 209
29. Colorado 68

Wilson and Tanguay probably make up 80% of those 68 man games lost. Penguins show just what's its like to have prospect depth at defense, more so then at offense where they just have the greatest player in the world carrying that weight.

That's very true, though the injury bug seems to have moved from Denver and landed smack into Cleveland. I'm positive we would've seen at least one callup on D by now if not for that.

Hunwick doesn't count? Plus didn't Roy say at the start of the year that he want's Elliott to spend the whole year down in Cleveland so he can be in a consistent environment.

#NJDevils have assigned D Adam Larsson to @AlbanyDevils.
Next season or 16 more games and he's no longer waiver exempt.

What is New Jersey doing to the kid? Bouncing between NHL and AHL. Screwed his development nicely. No longer the "steal of the draft" I presume.

How are they able to do that? Is he still on his ELC?

I knew the Avs were injury lucky, glad to see us at 29th. I'd love to see Lake Erie man games lost.

I'd say that despite us being 29th, we're not the 2nd luckiest team. Our injuries have hit mostly on our top-2 forward lines + Hejda and Wilson.

Wilson doesn't matter, the the rest are quite significant.

No, Hunwick doesn't count. He never counts. In fact he's a negative integer.

We are lucky. Duchene was only out 3 games, Stastny 2, Hejda 4. That's damn lucky. Could have been much worse.

Pittsburgh has a lot of resilience. I still remember the time when both Malkin and Crosby were out for extended periods, and the team still played very tough hockey and almost won their first playoff round.

I'd be surprised. It's 'coach's decision.'

Agreed. His trade value is nil, and if McPhee's foolish enough to still refuse to subsidize the contract any, then forget it.

Put it this way--Daniel Briere has more salary, but a lower cap hit than Erat, and he's being shopped as well. I'd rather have Briere.

Jets thinking of moving Byfuglien to forward. Their beat writer's take on him on TSN:

"Byfuglien, a monster talent but a coach killer with no structure."

On HF we're all homers who overvalue our players but I always laugh when people talk up Byfuglien and his defensive ability. He's so bad.

I'm glad to see Liles play in the league again. He always was a NHLer. He just cursed himself by re-signing with Leafs, who can and will bury players in the AHL.

Laugh all you want--he's not a terrible defensive player. Could stand to be a little smarter with the puck at times, but not terrible in the slightest.

"Coach-killer" is an idiotic term that gets bandied about by so-called experts far too easily. The only proven coach-killer I can recall is Keith Primeau, who all but publicly declared that Bill Barber should be canned by the Flyers. Sure enough, he was. There's no evidence to suggest Byfuglien is a coach-killer.

If anyone's killing the coach in Winnipeg, it's Ondrej Pavelec and his Swiss-cheese quality goaltending. But Noel deserves to be fired.

I laugh every time I watch the Jets. He's like another forward out there and usually looks lost in the defensive zone.

According to you, Ryan Suter can't play defense and Jack Johnson is one of the worst defensemen in the league but you're defending Byfuglien? How is that even possible?

It's very rare for a team to afford one of their best defenders to be a complete freelancer. Usually if you have your top defender not caring about the system, it trickles down to other players and you end up with a team that looks like Jets currently do.

I guess Paul Coffey could get away with it, but he also had a hard time staying with good teams. Gone from Oilers 87. Gone from Penguins 92. Gone from Red Wings 96.
