Whoa...impressive GDT. Hopefully your team will not be quite as impressive. We need to finish our 7-game homestand strong to keep pace in the West.

I remember that Schremp baseball goal. Ugh...about the only great thing that dude did in the NHL, and he did it against us.

I wonder how the altitude will affect them. That can be a real problem if your not use to it. Absolutely have to run shorter shifts and try and use all four lines.

Wasn't it Patrick Roy who was in love with Kevin Poulin when he was in the Q?

Would be nice to see Poulin shut his team down and watch Roy have one of his trademarked hissy fits on the bench tonight.

Hey guys nice GDT

Just a quick question about your goalie, is he as bad as the numbers suggest? I saw a bit of him the other night against and he seemed decent.

Eh.. he's shaky at best. A lot of those numbers and record come from a stretch when we lost like 15 of 17 games. This is when Vis, Strait, Nabokov, and Vanek were all hurt for some amount of games and we were ultimately playing like crap in the middle of a west coast road trip that torched us. We had no answer to our anemic defense at that time, but CdH was called up and has been a steady presence and we got Strait back. Poulin gets some of the blame though, as he simply has not been good enough.

His economy of movement is bad and his rebound control is bad. Those are my two biggest gripes.

Poulin's not as bad as the numbers suggest but he is still an inconsistent backup at best.

Yes, I believe Patrick Roy was a big fan of KP's when he was playing in the QMJHL, so it would be funny to see him stand on his head.

Roy is actually quite calm behind the bench. Sat two rows behind him last game. The temper thing is overblown from his playing days.

Go Isles!
Would like to see Strome and Nelson together again. They have shown some good chemistry already and would make a good pair for the future.

Most quotes i've read say it's the 1st 10 minutes that make players really suck wind and after that it's okay. We need a nice simple road 1st period. Chip the puck in deep, no neutral zone turnovers and smart puck decisions. No need to try and win the game in the first period.

Really hope the younger guys keep the tempo up. No doubt (Friedman wrote an article on it) these kids have injected life into this team. Strome, Nelson, de Hann, etc.. have been serious factors in the islanders turning it around!

LOL.. I like that drinking game, but I wouldn't make it to the third period.

Wait -- so do you think the Isles will stop in and enjoy some of the newly legalized product?

Normally, my posts are on the Federal level, so they could be removed. But todays post is a Colorado local post, so it should be ok'ayed by the mods to exist, as long as I post on my computer (not a public/library computer), right?

Can we add a few?

Islander breaks a stick on a penalty kill or power play.

A poor 2nd period line change results in an opponents goal
