Honestly not a bad effort today.

Mason wasn't very good and the Flyers couldn't finish some quality chances.

Bring the same effort tomorrow against the Rangers and they'll win.

Flyers have done very well lately and climbed the standings to the point where I shouldn't be too mad about this game. Should just kind of forget about it.

But due to how the year started they're still in the thick of the playoff race and can't really afford to be dropping easy points.

It's a Tampa team without Bishop and Stamkos that's the kind of game you have to win.

Reffing was annoying even if it didn't cost us much, Mason was weak, Downie is useless, 2nd PP unit is useless in general, Meszaros is only good in one zone it seems, the defensive quality was horrible, and Lindback was lucky as ****.

It's hard not to be ticked off by this one.

Matt Carle +6.

Am I the only one thinking the Flyers may have actually lost the Downie-Talbot trade?

Will they try to have a hearing for Hartnell tomorrow morning/afternoon or would that occur Monday? Would be tough to be down another forward in a back-to-back situation.

Really fun game to watch and also very frustrating.

Lightning out goal-tended Flyers, could have easily been the other way around.

All streaks have to come to an end let's hope for a bounce back vs Rangers tomorrow night.

Fleury has exceptional skating abilities. He has very good speed, and his footwork in tight areas is exceptional. He can maintain a very tight gap off the rush and use his reach to angle opponents to the boards and poke away pucks to create turnovers. Fleury plays a physical game, and is very difficult to play against on a consistent basis. He is very strong along the walls, and because of his speed and size, he rarely ever has to hook or trip players to prevent them from having a scoring opportunity. He does not take undisciplined penalties, and understands that he is more valuable to his team when he is out on the ice and not in the penalty box.

Alright. Looked far from it with these glasses on. But if that's the case it should get a few at least.

I mentioned Stevens/Kariya. Those are the really, really bad ones where open ice can almost be worse than into the boards with the speed players get up to in that area.

It sucks because Lindback was ripe for the beating today but oh well can't win them all.

The team to play the Bolts next will likely benefit from us roughing up their team today.

Talbot himself isn't worth anything either. At least Downie is on an expiring contract and has offensive upside even if he's not utilizing it.

Talbot is an older fourth liner who excels on the PK. On our team he was being shoved onto the third line and our PK is fine without him. Plus he's signed to a couple more years or so to money he's not worth.

Plus Downie was part of a dominant line for a stretch of games.

So we definitely didn't lose it. Downie is really disappointing right now though.

Something I liked about the Flyers play today was their physicality. I don't think they've been this physical so far this year.

It's frustrating they dominated the majority of the game and then played poor transition D and a couple of bad goals against on the goalie's part. I hope Berube plays this smart. He needs to take a careful, but strategic approach to get their heads back into it for an important game tomorrow.

On top of the obvious complete garbage that was the D and Mason, the 3rd line needs to be changed. They were completely irrelevant offensively and didn't even look good defensively.

I would love for them to find a way to get rid of Lecavelier since he's become completely useless.

Gus better be in for Mez next game.

The 1st and 2nd lines were completely dominant this game, the problem is that other than those 6 players everyone else played like trash.

We need Read back.

Overall, I think I'd rather them get outplayed and lose than get beat by a bad team that got lucky, it's so frustrating.

Only if we resign Downie. Losing Talbots cap hit next year is nice. If they flip Downie at deadline it will be even better. If he walks this summer it will be an even trade to lose the cap hit.

What Downie brings , even when he was hot with Couts and Read can be accomplished with a 1-1.25 per year player. He will never play top 6 on this team and is too slow to be a special teams guy.

Well, that was a game we should have won. Can't be too mad with how we've been playing lately. Really unlucky game, so many goals that could have been.

Hartnell was particularly bad, he ruined many scoring chances on his own. 1st line looked really good. Vinny looked great out there as well, felt like he should've been given more ice time.

I know we have a game tomorrow but what the hell is with the 4th line getting ice time in the second half of the 3rd when we're down 2?

Also putting the 2nd unit out there on that powerplay.. Berube has to know it's useless, why not just play the 1st unit and try to actually win? He gives that awful 2nd unit way too much time, he should be stretching the first unit especially when we're down in the 3rd.

That's all true, I guess I'd rather have just received a 2nd rounder for Talbot instead of getting a player that is pretty much playing like a liability.

Talbot was easily replaceable. this team doesn't miss his contributions at all. plus we replaced him with an expiring contract

Panotch asks why the Flyers have had so much trouble with the Lightning over the years. As in plural, not this season, but previous seasons (3-9-1 in last 13)

Of course, he was asking Mark Streit.

Disagree, Hartnell and the entire 2nd line was good and Vinny looked useless.

Gus is injured. There's no reason to rush him back into the line-up until he's fully healed

The Ugly: Mason

The Bad: The ice

The Good: Voracek and Giroux. I am not a fan of McGinn but thought he was decent.
