Best game from Bournival in weeks, best games of the season perhaps for Parros and Emelin, Diaz also played better. Briere has been moving his feet more since he sat out...skating instead of hooking. Even Bourque had some solid defensive plays and worked hard. Perhaps the Habs' best effort this season.

Clean team. Great hockey.
In the GDT I facetiously remarked that this was a preview of the SCF. After having seen
the entire game I can say in all seriousness that it was worthy of a SCF game. Who would have thought that the Habs could play so well. I knew Plekanec could and I knew Price and Markov were capable of it but now I can say that Gallagher is a very good player. These weren't the only ones who played well. Emelin got back into his hitting mode and Subban was dynamic all over the ice and Prust made some very good plays. There were others, too. Those who insist that the Habs are not a good team should reconsider. How many other NHL teams are capable of playing at this level?

I just reminded myself that the Habs also beat the Bruins 2-1 and won against the Ducks.

Plekanec a hell of a game
Markov a hell of a game
Eller a hell of a game
Briere a hell of a game

And as always.....Carey Price!!

The Eller's line was really dominating out there, they hit, they skake, always in the o-zone and many many scoring chance. Hope Therrien let this line build some chemistry.

They finally shot more than 20 times in a game and played a full game for once.

They have out shooted, out hit and won more faceoffs than Chicago.

Great game.

Great team win.

Emelin
Prust

Played really well too. Prust good block on the PK and blocked a pass to go 2 on 1.

Emelin back to hitting, blocked a few shots and cleared away a solid pass in the slot.

Murray even had a few good pinches as well helping keep the puck in deep late in the game.

The question is:. Can they play at that level for more than one game ?

It was his best game because the coach actually played him. MT needs to have more confidence in Bournival.

Most complete game for 60+ minutes with zero passengers that I can recall this year and needed every ounce of it, well done Habs!

If we got 3/4 that compete level in the losses against the non-playoff teams as of late we'd be challenging for 1st in the conference

I don't think it's realistic to expect 82 games like that in a season.

It's important for teams to be able to win games where they don't look great and don't go all out.

I don't expect the habs to always play like that, but I hope they do in the playoffs.

Then, they have to show they can play at that level way more often than once a month.

With the right matchup, they could make a little bit of noise, but I stand by what I thought coming into this season. Its a team that might have some success in the regular season even though I picked them to be in a dogfight with toronto for a wild card spot. They have done better than that so far, but this team is not made well enough for a long playoff run. Still, it was a fun game to watch, and I still get excited by some regular season results

The scary thing about Chicago is to beat them we had to be at our very best and outshoot them 38-20 to beat them in OT. Out of Chicago's 20 shots they had some good scoring chances. Anyhoo this was a dominant game by the habs against the best. Still couldn't believe what I was watching, even the little plays along the boards and winning puck battles against a team who thrives on those things. I honestly never saw this level of play coming. Habs seem like they unlocked another gear in the video game, so hopefully they can use it from here on in. Go Habs go!

Kane was in neutral for most of the game. He was still dangerous at times simply because of his vision and natural talent, but I chuckled when he basically stopped at the boards and basically invited emelin to paste him. Plays like that make me think he wasn't quite mentally into it.

Let's remember that these are the dog days for the blackhawks. The Olympic rosters are announced, they are in a very good spot in the standings, and I wouldn't be surprised if they are looking ahead to beginning the playoff grind again. It could be tough motivating some of these guys right now.... Like kane

Keith looked damn dangerous tonight. The speed at which he delivers his slapshot, it's amazing. why can't Subban shoot as much as him?

Subban was given a job to play shut down role against Toews. He did pretty good overall.

We had a Dman do what Keith did but even better. Markov jumped up on offense all night and got both goals doing it.

Plenty of players had strong games. Emelin best game in a while. Markov bounced back from his horrendeous performance against the Flyers. Briere did well. Pacioretty stopped making brain-dead pass.
