Has Ritchie's stock fallen that much? Wasn't he projected as a top 10 pick not too long ago?

If we aren't trading up for someone like Ekblad or Fleury, I'd love to grab Ritchie.

I think that eastern conference scout was drunk.

Yeah that pick wouldn't make a whole lot of sense for us.

BPA right? I wouldn't be upset with Pastrnak. He's not my first choice, but I don't know all that much about this year's crop outside of the top guys or guys in which I am interested. Pretty much the only position from which the team should stay away is center. LW, D, RW, G, while they may not all be "needs" so to speak, it won't hurt to have more prospects at that position. It is unlikely that their pick will be playing next season and it is far from a guarantee that he'll even be there the following season. Getting a RW prospect won't necessarily help us now, but moving forward it will.

Oh, I wasn't even really referring to our pick , just the scout's picks in general.

Ekblad number 1 makes no sense same with oilers drafting bennett

Personally, I'd love to get Pastrnak just because he's a "hometown" boy. But if he isn't the BPA when the Flyers pick the someone else should get picked.

I'd like McKeown for now. Maybe the other Kapanen.

For down in the area we're in, I'd love to pick up Kapanen and if not him, then Pastrnak. Both have done very well in European leagues.

Why would that make no sense?

With Reinhart available? I see Bennett as redundant if you have RNH. Reinhart is something that the team could use.

Do you think if we trade our pick and Grossmann we can move up a couple spots (like 2-3 spots) in the draft? Cause I doubt Kapanen will be available at our pick.

Bennett is arguably the best player in the draft. He has more upside than Reinhart. I don't think it's outrageous for him to be selected in front of Reinhart. They only have Gagner behind RNH, and they have been shopping him for years. He's a pretty good two-way center as well so even if he has to start out on the 3rd line, that makes them pretty formidable down the middle.

Most likely will have to deal grossman to another team for a pick let's say a 2nd. Then package that 2nd with our first to move up some slots.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bennett goes #1 to Buffalo to be honest.

I agree, If i had the first I would use it on Bennett. But Bennett and RNH as your top 2 centers against the big centers out west like kopitar, thornton, and Hanzal? That is going to be a disaster. Reinhart matches up with those guys better physically imo.

Bennett - 6'0" 181lbs
Reinhart - 6'1" 183lbs

There's really not much of a difference there. Reinhart's also older than Bennett, he'll be 19 in November while Bennett will be turning 18 in June.

Right, when watching bennett I would be shocked if he weighed more than 160 lbs. He has some grit but can't outmuscle opponent like Reinhart.

Everytime I watch bennett play he reminds me of RNH in terms of physique.

I have said before I would not be surprised if Bennett went #1 this year. Reinhart has had his skating questioned as well by some. They say it's deceptive because the way he wears his skate tongues, but I am not falling for that. I believe pro scouts can get past a player wearing his tongues in a strange way to judge the skating of a player.

I am not in favor of trading a lot away for Ekblad either like others have mentioned before. Although I like his game I just don't believe in giving NHL players++(especially when those NHL players are young top end players themselves) for a potential #1. I would want a #1 coming back for that amount going the other way.

I got them both from their team sites, we'll see how accurate they are at the combine.

There's really not a big difference with Laughton (6'1" 190lbs).

Would be totally cool with that pick. I think in terms of guys we can realistically have a chance of getting, he's probably in my top three.

How does draft order work for the teams that make the playoffs? For example, if we made it too the Eastern conference finals would our pick move to the back 4?

Edit: I would love Kapanen and Ehlers, but I am not sure they will be around. I would also be happy with Milano.

Yes, they go by round & use the standings for the regular season when determining the order of the knocked out teams sans the final two which is determined by the winner & loser.

surprised no one has brought up Hunter Smith(haven't gone back that far in this thread) 6'7" 220 and 18 years old and hes a winger. especially with some people who take size over anything else.
read somewhere he is a projected 3rd or 4th rounder.
