We don't need a old, declining, injury prone veteran!
Philly signed Forsberg for 5.2M...why not go after him?!?!?

WTF DT, this time you made a HUGE mistake

It is apparantly for draft picks and since there may be multiple picks involved it could mean philly is eating some salary. I've always liked JR, but i hope this doesn't hinder our chances to sign Ziggy (read cap space).

This seems stupid. Why take on Roenick's ~ 5 mill when you can sign Forsberg for a little bit more (if possible). Yeah, like the poster before me, unless Flyers pay for salary that makes Roenick a bargain.

DT is a smart man. I can't imagine DT giving us a raw deal.

That being said, I don't want roenick!

Ung. Doesn't Roenick have concussion problems and wasn't he pondering retirement for a while? Philly better be eating some salary or sending us draft picks to take him off their hands.

I like JR, but I agree on the salary and what we give up. He's not a $5MM guy anymore.

I'm just shaking my head.....

Concussion problems fit right in with the team. That works

If true, I'm guessing low draft picks like a 5th and 7th and hopefully Philly eats a mil or two

this would be a huge acquisition. Roenick is still an elite player

Is he? Truly I have not followed him that much. I speak out of turn then. I'm sorry.

I do hope DT is not done yet though.

An elite player? You mean, nowadays?
Check his stats KJ, he W-A-S an elite player.
At the end of the series against Tampa in 2004 he wasn't tired, he was dead.
If we were in 1995, I'll be giving a party to celebrate, but unfortunately we're in 2005.

btw, it's not confirmed, there's room for some hope.

He had an average of 57 pts in his last 3 seasons, 0,80 pts per game.

How many years are left on Roenicks contract? I hope no more than 1 year.

Like I said before I trust DT. Let's not slam the deal yet.

I'm not a fan of Roenick...I hate his arrogance...However, I have to admit, it would be a good addition for the Kings....And I'd probably love him if he came here...

Ok, this is what I was just told ( besides that I freak out too much )

team needs a first line center. Would you rather have Roenick or Stumpel
on the first line....Roenick-Demitra-Robitialle...Frolov-
Conroy-Cammalieri/Brown ....doesn't look bad, better than two
years ago.

So, given that option

very good move!

Balances the lineup like I talked about. veteran brand name presence to sell in the market. not gonna be a longterm deal either unless resigns for less.

Jr, as always, will make some noise. In this market, good or bad noise is a good thing for hockey.

There are reports that Kariya is going to San Jose...

From Spector's Hockey:

"Apparently ER Hradek reports (on ESPNews, a channel I don't get) that the Sharks have signed (Paul) Kariya and will make the announcement Wednesday."

That's what I was hearing last night too, but I also don't get ESPN.

I'm only for this trade if the Kings go over 32 mil to get another forward and a Blueliner... other than that, it's an admission of failure on a few fronts.

The good news. JR is done after this year... so the Kings would get $5 mil of cap space next year for the big names going UFA.
