Does anyone have the feeling that watching a guy dubbed "better than Crosby", Connor McDavid get picked by some lucky team right in our arena in ALL of our faces will be the final nail in the coffin of this franchise?

No. I'm done tanking for the draft. We have plenty of skill in our pool and are ready to step in the playoff promised land.

1 playoff round > McDavid IMO
Plus do you really want to try and out tank EDM, Calgary, Buff ?

mcdavid will never be like crosby, he lacks the lower body strength and skating that makes crosby S-tier

Agreed, this team is done with tanking. At this point, I would rather they start going for it than try to get a top pick again. Besides as long as the craziness of the lottery allows all teams who miss the playoffs to get the #1, there's no guarantee. Look what happened this past lottery.

Some team will get McDavid, it won't be the Panthers. Whoop-de-doo. You really want to suffer through another horrible season just for that? I'm not sure the Panthers could afford it at this rate. They HAVE to start winning and they have the tools to start doing that now. The cupboards are stocked with talent.

Besides the Panthers already have talent in Huberdeau and Barkov like they never have when it comes to drafting. The stars of this team are already here.

If McDavid turns out to be a superstar, my answer to your question is yes. Why you ask? Well, go watch the superstar-less Panthers tonight against a streaking John Tavares and you'll clearly understand my point.

My point stands though, tanking is pointless when someone can jump you in the lottery. The Panthers looked poised to draft 1st overall last year and they didn't get it. The same thing could happen next year. Improving your chances is one thing but you can still easily get screwed over.

And again I reiterate, the superstars of the future are already on this team. Having McDavid would be great, but how many more losing seasons can this team afford? You want superstars, build a winning culture and they will come.

This team already has star players, they just aren't mature enough yet to carry the team. McDavid would be great obviously but he is no Crosby and the chances are very slim for the Panthers to get him. Also like I said earlier I hope that we aren't even in the sweepstakes and make the playoffs. Winning if anything would help the young players to develop.

Only in U.S sports do fans wish their team "tanks" some more years for a potential superstar. Hilariously broken imo.

I'd take playoffs before #1 pick any day. Why? Well, whats the fun in watching the team suck another year, draft McDavid, then be semi-sucky the next year and continue like that?

Anyways, kinda OT but also hilarious to see how many fans hate the Panthers, twitter is overloading with Panther hate.

Think realistically though. We might actually be a good team next season with Tallon ready to spend some cash and will not finish in the Bottom 2 or 5. McDavid unfortunately will probably go to the Flames, Oilers, or Sabres.
I was @ the 2002 draft in Toronto, it was also free. Remember, the draft where we traded the #1 overall pick to Columbus, basically Nash for Bouwmeester.

I can't see the NHL charging admission for a Entry draft.

Also, I've been through so many tanks/crappy non-playoff seasons its unreal. Ready for this team to start winning on a consistent basis!

I hope by that point we'll be looking at trading our 1st round pick in order to make a splash for a playoff run in 15-16.

I don't want to tank, but I do want another 1st round pick. I just don't see how we can get one. (At the moment)
For instance, I think Buffalo has a sweet deal, they traded Vanek and now they will either get the Isle's 1st this year or in 2015. And the Isle are a perfect candidate, a team that is a bubble team that might be willing to trade their 2015 1st.

We found out last year that tanking doesn't guarantee you first overall.

And we saw the superstar-less Panthers lead by wunderkind Barkov hold streaking John Tavares without a point.

And -3 on Tavares (not sure if he was on the ice during the PP aswell).

So was I.

Funny thing is, these days most people wouldn't trade Bouwmeester for Nash. Nash is a shadow of the player he once was.

we just need to hit on another top pick like we have with barkov... Hubes could be if hes finds his way... but honestly plug in another stud wing and boom were off...

we seriously have a sick d core coming up...

hence why i hope we draft a goalie with second or 3rd...

but yah like some of you i am a huge prospect draft junkie
