A lot of good stuff potentially here!

anyone from eastern part of ottawa here? Fritomania has the best poutine I've ever had. Perfectly crisped fries, St-Albert curds and delicious gravy.

As you can see right here...everyone has their own preferences. Both poutines to me look rather boring, and revolting, respectively.

I mean, sunny side up eggs on poutine, and you want to EAT that?

WTF

Made this for supper. I used the Valentine's poutine mix. I'll probably try making my own sauce at some point when I have more time.

Those curds look like you put them in cold.

Okay if you guys live around Hochelaga or Rosemont, the poutine at Pyroz is something to try out.

Warning though, they use crunchy fries but those fries in a poutine make a whole lotta sense.

Toronto : Awsome curry and butter poutine with some sort of Indian cheese
Calgary-Edmonton : Gallagher prime beef poutine
Hamilton : Crack poutine (Nygrem joke... sorry it was too easy)
PEI : Sea food and fish poutine
Winnipeg : Same as Edmonton and Calgary poutine ?
Montréal : Foie gras poutine
Drummondville-Victoriaville-Qc City : Classic poutine with the nicest fries of them all

Poutine is good for national unity. I'm not a hater ! I love Canada even though I don't root for their arrogant D2 Icelandish hockey team.
Halifax: Donair and/or fried pepperoni. I'm almost sure it already exists in some form out here.

edit: Yup. Good ol' Cheese Curds has both options (and that Indian butter chicken option "from Toronto", lol). Guess I'm going back soon, 'cause I forgot about them.

Went to Mange-moi on Mont-Royal last night for a poutine with pulled pork shoulder called La Cochonne. Was truly amazing. I highly recommend it.

No one who can get good ones in these parts agrees with you. You could put donair meat on ice cream and sell it here, lol. I find literally everywhere outside of Halifax makes a different sauce, and I don't like any of the myriad variations I've had across this country nearly as much. Foamy whipped stuff, for example, can GTFO.

But this is the poutine thread, and I'm hitting up Cheese Curds tomorrow.

If you guys want to try DOners, they make some really good ones at Champion on 16th avenue and beaubien. I dont really like the taste of doner meat though.

I never tried out an insanely good poutine but I like poutine actually. May be a decent place in Downtown but i dont like the brown fries on poutine, I like regular ones. For example there is a place called Poutine Central where I live and I dont like it even if they specialize in poutines because the sauce and fries are meh. While a random pizza might just have the best poutine ever.As for smoke meat, nothing beats Shwartz and for pizza nothing beats Pizza Roma on St-Laurent and that small pizza at Atwater metro (may be called Double Pizza). As for Shish Taouk, Shawarma Plus (alexis-nihon) and Amir may be the best and maybe village grec.

Going out to buy ingrediants tonight for a poutine. Still haven't decided which kind I'll make.
Looking at this thread... they all look so damn good. I need to have one tonight.

I'll regret it tomorrow.

I tried the same ingredients but let my poutine a bit too long on the counter...
