Ales Hemsky worth a third round pick?

They just mentioned on sportsnet that the oilers won't get more than a third for Ales Hemsky. Which teams will be interested in him at that price?

Devils !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

His 24 PTS would be good for 5th on the Devils. I would love to try him with Elias.

With some cap retention he can easily get 1st from contenders. LA, SJ, Pens. All are waiting for good winger.

His value doesn't appear to be all that high, not sure a team would give a first for him even with salary retention.

No he couldn't. No sane team would give up a 1st for an injury prone 2nd liner who's on a 40 point pace.

He's on pace for ~40 points. I don't think he's going to get a 1st from anyone. Maybe a 2nd if Edmonton retains as much salary as possible (there's rules around that - not being able to retain more salary than what's owed).

Devils should be all over this.
3rd and .... Salvador's or A-train...please?
Above two probably have negative value.
3rd and Fayne for Hemsky and a 2nd?

Would be perfect fit in NJ
Currently have two lines finally "clicking" (as much as they can be with the system we play)
Zubrus Zajac Jagr
Clowe Henrique Ryder
Lines are good but with Elias coming back , do not want to mess up those lines so...
Hemsky Elias Brunner ..... Me likey alot.
Round things off with Bernier Gio Carter and we might have a shot at the playoffs.

I cant really see the Oilers being interested in a 3rd round pick, I think they'd prefer trading Hemsky for a veteran NHL player.

Looks like the devils are the only ones interested? Can they make it work cap wise?

Another gem from 21JVR. There's not a freaking chance he'll get a 1st from SJ.

Like a 3rd or 4th liner? Not sure what veteran NHL player he is returning in a trade (though I agree with your sentiment)... perhaps an overpaid veteran player?

Senators are likely interested at the price, as well, as they have been linked to him before and he would address a need.

Can't really see contenders/playoff bound teams moving a roster player for him.

They may not be interested in the third but they at least have to be realistic. If the market says he's worth a 3rd then their choice is limited to either trading him for that pick or keeping him. There's nothing wrong with trading him for that 3rd - they could always use it in a future trade for that veteran they want or need.

Its actually good for MacT.. This should generate some phone calls by other GMs..
On deadline if he is healthy the price should jump from the 3rd to a 2nd as teams get desperate.

No one is expecting a 1st for him.

Devils would be foolish to waste a 3rd round pick on a soft forward who is more than likely going to go on the IR.

I would rather keep Brunner to play RW and trade for a Daniel Briere or Brad Boyes instead of Hemsky.

Briere is a certified playoff beast and Boyes can help the team in shootouts as well as chipping in with some goals. Much better options than Hemsky.

I could see something around hemsky and clifford if Hemsky is capable of playing top 6 mins on the kings. I ve seen him listed as both lw and rw so im not sure and won't make this trade if hes a rw pushed into playing lw We ve tryed that to many times already toffoli fratting hell even tryed richards all failed bad.
