Why? He has the potential to be a top 45 center in the NHL.

Don't worry MB doesn't have the stones to pull anything drastic.

Ducks up 7-1, Canucks goon it, Ducks get a seven-minute five-on-three to end the game !

Out of control

It's going to be a nut case hot contested race to finish for the playoffs.
Would not surprise me if we end up with a top ten draft pick!
One good game in over a month? Leafs are barely surviving but one losing skid of 3-5 games and they ll most likely leap frog us.

I'm to the point i dont care any more, I'd happily take a top 10 pick at this point!

Ducks with 6 PP goals.

Habs would have won 3 - 1.

you know it would take ELEVEN teams to pass us in the standings for that to happen right ?

I don't think the Edmonton move is a complete disaster. It is decent, depending on if Scrivens re-signs or not. Hendricks, while being 32 years old, has a contract that is not bad considering that there will be an increase in the salary cap, and judging from 24/7 Penguins Capitals he is a good guy to have on your team, something the Oilers need! Surprised though that Nashville traded for Dubnyk? To be Mazanec's back-up while Rinne is away I guess.

I think if anything Scrivens will probably cost them a higher draft pick by stealing a few games here and there that Dubnyk wouldn't have.

So good on them for improving their team on-ice but if you're a pro-tank Oilers fan, you're probably not too thrilled...

Penguins traded Goligoski for Niskanen and Neal, what a freakin' steal. Totally fleeced Dallas in that trade.

I have a friend who is a legit dallas fan from Montreal. Crazy, eh? Anyway, he got annoyed when I told him how awful that trade was and he told me something like " yeah, everyone on hfboards thinks it was stupid. You'll see, we needed a great puck mover" etc.

Now when anyone brings up goligoski I just smile...

I guess you smile a lot then, 'cause whenever I talk about going for the BPA at the draft even if you have a lot of players that looks the same, you might be able to trade a great prospect for another great prospect based on needs.....just like Goligoski for Neal trade. Doesn't mean it ended up great by Dallas....just that both teams went for what they thought were needs.....You don't always have to draft the needs....you could also trade for it....

Nathan Beaulieu + our 1st round or 2nd round pick.

I would like David Savard, too.

Never been a fan of Despres. I don't see how bringing him in changes anything.. especially considering Tinordi and Beaulieu are better prospects IMO.

Plus, If I were going after any young D in the NHL.. Gelinas on NJD has just impressed the hell out of me every time I watch. He'd immediately be a solution to our 2nd PP unit.

For Després? No way. You will have people who will have a hard time just dealing Beaulieu for Després alone...can't imagine sending a 1st round or even 2nd in the deal. I just Wonder though if Beaulieu for Després wouldn't be in the cards solely based on "character"....

OK. Too much for Despres. But would you do a Beaulieu for Despres. I think Despres is a safer player than Beaulieu and has more success so far at AHL level than Beaulieu. He is one year older I think, too.

No, I wouldn't. The devil you know is better than the devil you don't. It is a lateral move that might actually bite us in the ass. Beaulieu needs polish but with the puck on his stick, even at the NHL level, he is a certifiable offensive threat and his vision offensively is incredible. I have rarely seen a defenseman, come into the league and play the point looking for slap tips while being pressured. Kid has incredible poise with the puck on his stick.. it's a matter of extracting that same attention to detail in his own end.

He didn't look NHL ready last time. How much has this guy improved? Enough to be a playoff callup?

I thought he looked better than tinordi overall, tbh, which surprised me. He's been picking it up in hamilton lately. I've admittedly been slacking in my bulldogs watching duties lately, though.

He is certainly not dominating at the AHL level , not even in his own team.

6 points in his last 7 games.
