We don't have the cap space, nor would I want to commit to the money, but in a non cap world I would move Raymond + for Ruutu

What's the scouting report on Bellemore?

About the same as it was on HF.

Bellemore is a big stay at home defenseman who is willing to drop the gloves. He seemed to develop some playmaking skills in his last two seasons of junior but has been hesitant to do that so far at the pro level. Not particularly mobile or fluid, his game is predicated on sound positioning and consistent effort.

I believe he's 2nd among rookies in hits.

Toronto may only have interest in Tlusty and Skinner. However, there will be no deal done because you guys don't really need anyone we can offer you. Maybe Raymond, but I don't see a deal there.

The most realistic deal I can think of is:

Jiri Tlusty
Brendan Woods
4th round pick 2014

Mason Raymond
Spencer Abbott

I actually like him. He's been pretty reliable most of the year..definitely has his "off games," though. I think Carolina may just want someone more proven in the top 4 role.

I actually like Brendan Woods. Don't really want to see him go. Plus, Raymond is a UFA. There's no guarantee that he stays in NC after the season. Don't know they trade Tlusty for that..

Thanks. What kind of return would you guys expect, or would you rather keep him?

If they are trading Bellemore, another reliable top 4 guy has to coming to Carolina, either in the deal to trade Bellemore or another one.

I'm willing to take other suggestions. How about Justin Shugg? Also, that is true, though Tlusty is underperforming right now, and Raymond is on a great contract whilst performing. I don't know how to value that. I aimed high on the pick, so it can be negotiated as well. I'm hoping to at least a 7th, though I still think it can be higher. Also, Carter Ashton can be had for an increased price, though believe it or not, I think Abbott is more NHL ready.

Is this trade any better? Raymond is the only guy I see who can fill a need, unless you see Jerred Smithson as a 3C

Jiri Tlusty
Justin Shugg
Conditional 5th round pick 2015, becomes a 4th in 2015 if Raymond is resigned.
7th round pick 2014

Mason Raymond
Carter Ashton/ Spencer Abbott (whoever you find more valuable)
Jerred Smithson (if that's what it takes).

Yeah, that's what I'm saying, there's not much there. I think JR would take Tlusty, a C prospect and a 7th for Raymond and Abbott, but I don't know if Nonis will. I think he wants to take Raymond into the playoffs, and he doens't have any familiarity with Tlusty, so there's not much there.

Nonis has discussed a deal for Skinner, but we don't have any big name pieces that you would need, so there's nothing there. At least the Gleason deal happened, and we are very pleased with that

Canes are trying to move the type of players that nearly every other team is also trying to move.

Ruutu's contract should scare away most team.

They will do more Gleason for J, Liles trades to move those players-- I will trade me my junk for your junk

Undervalue. 4th line kind of guy and a very undersized player for a 4/5 RH defensive defenseman. I don't think they'd even pick up the phone.

Yet your team is paying Booth around 4.5 million and have complete plugs like Tom Sesito.

Although you obviously dont watch the Canucks because Sestito has played well for his role and been well worth his contract.

Booth on the other hand.....you want him? We will give him to you for free....
