Our defence needs work though. We are set at forward and goal, but another defenceman (maybe Hamrlik) would be great.

Thornton - Zhamnov - Scatchard. That is great depth at center for the Bruins.

Yesterday, Glen Murray was quoted as saying that Thornton told him the rumours of him wanting out are 110% false. Other reports are indicating that Thornton is well on his way to signing a long term contract. That's why our GM signed Murray, McEachern, Scatchard, Leetch, and Zhamnov. He's building a teams around Thornton.

B's top 2 lines will be

Murray-Thornton-MacEachern (better than knuble).
Samsonov-Zhamnov-Bergeron

Isbister-Scatchard-Huml

Not bad!!!

Isbister - Thornton - Murray
Samsonov - Zhamnov - Bergeron
Axelsson - Scatchard - McEachern
Hilbert - Fitzgerald - Orr/Lacouture

Hopefully 2/3 of the #2 line (Sammy and Zhammy) can stay healthy or else its a big problem.

If Isbister was actually capable of being a top line winger - do you think we would have given him to you for a 3rd? Think about it......

Didn't Knuble bounce around the league on the 4th line before reaching Boston? Think about it....

Zhamnov is a solid 2nd line center but 4 million for 3 yrs to a guy who will be 35 before the puck drops this yr is a pretty big contract under the new system.

exactly! since when has isbister shown signs of being even top 2 line material. he is a depth winger. MacEachern is 20x the player he ever will be. Plus Murray is LW not RW to the other poster.

Im really looking forward to Samsonov-Zhamnov-bergeron line, two russians together and could be a top 5, second line in the league. Will be dynamite, as long as Sergei stays healthy.

One key difference, though. Isbister is made of glass. He gets injured very, very easily.

Isbister will never be anything like Bertuzzi, but that doesn't mean he couldn't play with Joe and succeed. Isbister has never played with anyone like Joe before, and Isbister is very similar to Knuble who scored 30 goals with Joe. On top of that Isbister has better hands than Knuble.

Also, Murray is a RW.

As for Zhamnov, I didn't want him and for that much it's truly painful. He and Sammy better click otherwise what a waste. For 4M another defenceman would have been perfect. Ahh, well.

Murray is a right winger. Always has been. Knuble manned the left side on the Thornton line. And although it was some time ago, Isbister showed top six potential when he was on Long Island.

Second line of Samsonov-Zhamnov-Bergeron is set. I have a feeling that left wing on the Thornton line with be either Isbister or McEachern.

This is under the assumption that the Bruins resign Axelsson, who will play with Scatchard on the third line. I'd rather play Isbister at RW on the third line, and give McEachern the spot on Thornton's line.

However, Knuble became 4x a player when put with Thornton. Odds are Isbister will fail to blossom there as well, but it may be woth a shot.

Either way, the Bruins are looking soldi up front. Defense..well...
