I like that. We'd actually have 3 pairings that can move the puck out of the zone and play a transition game.

I don't know why we haven't seen Emelin-Subban yet. Whenever Gorges has played on the right he's been decent.

This is definitely the best pairing I could see puts emelin and Beaulieu on the left and emelin will play better with subban.

Just because it's easy to see why we're excited for the day Beaulieu/Tinordi suit up full-time for the Habs doesn't mean they're as competent as the professionals in their spots right yet. They're going to have to get a chance to learn at the NHL level/speed pretty soon, though, I'd agree, but not even Beaulieu looks full-time ready yet to me.
Like I said... they can't do any worse.

Neither Murray nor Bouillion belong in the NHL as anything other than injury replacements. This is not hyperbole either. They are not NHL caliber players. At least with Beaulieu and Tinordi you're getting guys who learn as they make the mistakes. And if we're not winning anything this year (we're not) then we should get these guys in the lineup so they can help us out sooner rather than later.

And Beaulieu last night played a better game than either Murray or Bouillion have played yet this year. For sure he's better than the other two are.

Dude, of course they can. There are over 30 games left on the schedule, which is what those top 3 D in Hamilton have collectively for NHL experience. And we're currently sitting in a playoff spot with home-ice advantage. Even just as cogs on largely the same wheel, it's not reasonable to assume that they would have (to this point) carried, or could (from now through the playoffs) carry us nearly as high.

Having said that, I was hoping to finish this season with more questions answered regarding Beaulieu and Tinordi in particular, so I'm not against seeing more of those two.

That's just simply not true, though I appreciate the passion your hate takes on when you talk about our D.

I'm not getting into this 3rd D conversation. No idea what you were talking about with that other poster.

What I will say though is that Beaulieu is better than what we have. I suspect Tinordi probably is too. Even if he's not though, he can't do any worse and we get the bonus of giving him experience in sheltered minutes. I don't see the downside here. Murray and Bou suck anyway.

Both of them suck. I say it's true, you say it isn't. I don't know what games you've been watching but the numbers show that Murray is the worst in the league and Bouillion is right down there with him.

I don't believe that advanced stats are the be-all and end-all of things and have been vocal about this in the past. But those numbers confirm what I've already seen and in Murray's case he's so far beyond the worst that nobody else is even close.

What I saw from Beaulieu last night was a demonstration of talent that the other two simply do not possess. And unlike the other two... he actually HELPED US. Bou and Murray are net negatives for us. They hurt us when they're out there.

So do I hate Bouillion and Murray? Not personally. If anything I've always liked Frankie Bou for the player he was. But he's past expiry now. So fond memories and I don't hate either of these guys.

But YES it's more than fair to say that I hate that they are playing for us right now. Because they both suck. Nothing personal against them but yeah... I hate that they're on our squad as regulars. Ridiculous that they're in our lineup actually.

I'm not a fan of DD, but at least he's putting up points in the role we've given him. Can't blame him for how he's used. But these two are flat out incompetent now.

Don't the fancystats have Tinordi right there with Bouillon and Murray at the bottom? Pretty sure they do. Small samples, and all that, but if this is a purely numbers argument, Tinordi doesn't pass. If we go outside the numbers then you're pitting experience and preparation of veterans against skill of rookies. Can't just assume that anyone that isn't Murray/Bouillon will not only handle the same role better, but make us better in turn, just by not being Murray or Bouillon, lol.

They might. But like I said, he can't do any worse. Plus we get the upside of developing him. One thing for a rookie to make bad mistakes, whole other story for it to come from a guy at the end of his career. At least if it comes from a rookie those mistakes serve a purpose. BTW, what would those stats say about Beaulieu? Or are you going to move the goalposts now?

As for Beaulieu, no doubt he should be kept up. Just mindboggling that we've got him going back to Hamilton.

Are we the only team that does this kind of thing? I get the feeling that Bergevin has no idea what he's doing.

Well, hopefully we'll get to see how he does now. Personally, I don't think it can be any worse.

BTW, any stat heads have the numbers on him for last night?

Probably.

Somebody mentioned yesterday that it would save cash to do this so that's probably what happened here.
