From another thread: Allison may be in Buffalo to get his 'Toronto' medical.

US vs. Canada medical system differences and all...

Cue jokes.

I thought this was one player they had locked up. If Lindros doesnt go there then they are in serious trouble. The thing about players not being treated right may mean no talented player will want to sign and it may lead to Ferguson being fired.

For the love of God I hope your right.

EDIT: How does that make sense? If a player signs in the US does he come to Canada to get a physical?

Thats right, we don't believe in Doctors in Canada. MAYBE if they wanted a MRI, but I doubt even that (I'm pretty sure the Leafs can pay to use a Toronto MRI after hours, and do so).

I think he'll be alright...but his productivity might be shot cause he has no one to play with

I don't know how these things work... and I'm no Leafs fan pouring water on this.

I did, however, hear it said earlier today that Allison was in Buffalo ostensibly as part of his talks with the Leafs, so it wouldn't surprise me if spector's rumour is based on Allison being in the area, not on substantive negotiations.

It does make more sense than Allison signing in Buffalo, doesn't it?

This is why I don't put much on the rumor.

He said himself he wants to be in Toronto.

He is from Toronto.

Leafs are interested in him.

Leafs, even though are gonna be **** this year, still have players for Allison to play with. Buffalo is as of now, in a worse spot than we are.

Sweet. There's good career potential in Feudalism. Where do you suggest I go to become a serf?

Buffalo surely has cap room (Buffalo probably needs to spend money to get above the floor even). Allison was always rumuoured to the Leafs for dirt, so maybe Buffalo kicked in more dirt.

First, Buffalo will be above the cap floor. Re-signing our RFA's QO's will take us to $22 million. Numminen adds $2 mil more. We could use a #1 centerman and Allison would come reasonably cheap.

Second, Regier will not spend one dollar more than he thinks the player is worth, listen to the Numminen press conference on sabres.com if you don't believe that. So, honestly, I don't know what to make of this rumor.

Ta,

Serf is not a very rewarding career in Feudalism. You want to be a land owner or, preferably, noble-born.

Spector's references a Sabres website which references a radio station that posters in the Sabres forum have been listening to all day and have heard nothing about Jason Allison. This "rumour" is total garbage.
