Coots line question.

We all know how successful coots read and Downie were after the trade. Is Downie the type player that line needs to be productive and successful? Or would mason Raymond type work? Good speed and can finish. Coots and read are already solid defensively in case Raymond lacks in that area. Will Downie remove head from butt and work on that line again or do we need to find someone else like him. The next Matt Cooke?

Opinions?

I'd love to see a Raffl-Couturier-Read line at some point.

Finding a spot for Vinny is really the problem right now. The Schenn line is working so they'd be stupid to break that up right now. Vinny can't play LW and that's the only spot open on the top line and breaking up G and Voracek isn't a good idea IMO. That leaves the Couts-Read line cause Vinny would be useless on the 4th line.

Also what I would love to see as a 3rd line, would be hell to play against and can score. Sadly we need Raffl on 1st line as of now.

I would try this.

Schenn-Giroux-Voracek
Hartnell-Lecavalier-Simmonds
Raffl-Couturier-Read
Downie-VdV-Hall

We've seen it and they work really well together.

It's a shame Vinny can't play LW, 'cause I'd swap him in Raffl in a heartbeat. I'd still rather see Vinny on the top line anyway because he drags down the effectiveness of Couturier's line as a checking unit.

Raffl looks so perfect on that line. I want to extend him and have him on that line for the next couple of years. That line will be money. Easily one of the best 3rd lines in the league
