My thoughts all along were he would play 3 years. His contract was structured that way if he could play initially in that first year his contract essentially became a 3 year deal with 2 options. The team could be absolutely decimated after next year, would be the perfect time to get out before real decline starts. Sure if docs find something then plans could change but I'm not worried about that.

I just read keeping Decker is the Broncos' #1 offseason priority

Sounds like La La Anthony may have had something to do with Carmelo bolting to NY based on this:

Quote:
“I definitely think he will stay [in New York]. I know that he wants to stay and I support him wherever he wants to go,” she said in an interview with Bravo TV’s “Watch What Happens Live, via ESPN.com. ” “Listen, I used to live in Denver with him. If I can live in Denver, I can live anywhere. I just want him to be happy.”

We've known that since day 1. She demanded to get back to the NY market so she could continue her MTV career.

Yeah, La La was the driving force no doubt. Just like if she wants to move to LA, Melo will be a Laker next year.

Eh, whatever. Melo would've bolted regardless.

Probably. But you never know, maybe he's able to recruit other top flight talent here.

She was a MTV veejay at one point like 10 years ago. She's washed up now but she wants to get her career back.

We'll see what Market Melo ends up in. Bet it's not Oklahoma City.

I don't believe that for an instant. The minute LeBron colluded with his buddies to form their own little superteam I knew Melo was on his way out. Sure enough, he forces a trade to the biggest sports market in America. Denver was never willing to spend the kind of $$$ New York regularly does and so I doubt he ever believed he could win a title here. The fact that he's all but said he's leaving NY once he's a free agent is a pretty good indication his wife isn't that big an influence on his career decisions.

And as far as recruiting goes, remember that "celebrity basketball game" Carmelo tried to put together? Yeah, uh, Melo is a hell of a basketball player, but a recruiter he is not.

lol
He's also a bad recruiter because he thinks bringing in people like JR Smith and Kenyon Martin is going to better a team. The guys Carmelo thinks are solid players are specialists or have no offensive game whatsoever.

Some reporter asked Shaun Phillips if this is a must win game. I understand why the players hate media day.

4* WR Shay Fields to Colorado, was committed to Boise State and USC before. Almost makes up for losing Dotson to UWub.....almost.

Gameday will be on campus on the 22nd for Arizona/CU

You'd think legal weed would make the Nuggets a hot free agent destination.

It's the reason why Varly has turned it on lately.

I'm sure some of you have already noticed but Avs play NJ the very next day after the Super Bowl. You think Avs will be attending to the event in any way?

I would assume a few of the guys might try. I think a whole bunch went to the AFC Championship game.

I'm just hoping as a sign of solidarity Patty wears an Orange necktie and blue dress shirt in the game against Buffalo on Saturday.

Thought I read somewhere that most of the guys will be watching the game at the hotel; however, PAP said he might try to get a ticket. Maybe it was in a Denver Post article, I can't remember.

Roy said the team will be watching from the hotel because it's a busy trip for them.

On a side note, there's a report out there today that the Broncos don't think they'll be able to sign Knowshon Moreno I don't think I'm ready to hand the keys to Monte Ball full-time, but if Moreno commands too much money I can see why they'd make this decision. Just hope he has an outstanding game and shows up Mr. Skittles

Handing marquee money to an RB almost never works out. They break down too quickly. And Knowshon has only recently shown any signs of durability. I'd hate to lose him, but I don't blame the Broncos if they are a little cautious to throw him a huge deal.

I'd rather have Decker than Knowshon. I know KM has been a beast this season and kudos to him. I'm just not sure he's all that talented. Plus if he wants $$$ after the Broncos stuck with him for years after he did nothing then go right ahead.

Good for Knowshon. He deserves the best IMO.
