Great read, fav quote..

"One Kings' insider says; "If we get him, (ziggy) we've got a chance to be a real special team."

Yeah, but the article also says:

So he's a top 10 talent if he can stay healthy, but the chances of that seem to be slim to none. I think taking him on is probably a mistake, though I admit I'm in the minority on this.

I agree. I've been saying this the whole time. Better to use the money on a cheaper and just as productive Kariya and a 3-4 dman.

The Journal reports the Oilers are believed to be offering Kariya a one year deal worth between $2.5-million and $3-million. San Jose and Los Angeles are also said to be interested in Kariya

I'd give Paul a 2yr $5.75 mill contract then look for a dman for around 1-1.5 mil. Still not sure who I like though.

For the people that want Palffy back

http://www.thefourthperiod.com/news/lak050805.html

THE LAST PIECE

Now about this Palffy fellow... if he winds up not coming back, he REALLY doesn't like LA. His situation is getting a bit sticky, as well. His first choice, the Islanders, did the deal with that devil, Miro Satan. His other front burner options are the Rangers, Detroit and Toronto.

With Palffy's well known lack of media friendless (one of the fastest post game showers in the West), it's doubtful he'd be happy in T.O. or the Joe, and as for the Rangers, need I write more?

He can't complain about the organization's commitment to winning so the only beef he could truly have is with Murray (whose coaching style is bound to change with the advent of rule changes.)

Yes, Palffy comes to camp out of shape and he's getting more frail with each season but he's still a Top Ten talent.

One Kings' insider says; "If we get him, we've got a chance to be a real special team."

Teams that both Kariya and Palffy have played on have had marginal success getting into the playoffs.

Palffy: 11-NHL Seasons; 3-Playoff qualifications
Kariya: 10-NHL Seasons; 4-Playoff qualifications

While we're on the subject,

Roenick: 16-NHL Seasons; 15-Playoff qualifications
Demitra: 11-NHL Seasons; 7-Playoff qualifications

Not sure Kariya or Palffy could be held responsible for the teams performance.
Remember the Ducks were starting from nowheresville as an expansion team. Palffy should have gotten some more teams in. If Demitra hadn't started in the Early Ottawa org he would have even better numbers. Roenick is golden, someone should tatoo his number on their ass

Thanks Floppa, ya brought us Jman, left the conference and hosed the merdelanche.

You're calling out this guy? I find that hilarious. Please let us know why he cant be considered a source.

He isnt writing about stuff that hasnt been written before. If you have ever been to Health South, you can confirm Palffys actions. If you average out Palffy's 62 games a year for the Kings, you can see he isnt exactly the healthiest guy.

I have never posted something twice. It is always bound to happen that you miss something especially with all that is going on in the NHL theses days. Im not sure if you noticed how many times the board has been shut down or not?

Being a mod, you are in two positions.

1) Simply merge the thread and make it a dead issue.

2) Be a dick and make an issue about it.

I guess the choice is yours.

Easy kids.

Matt in his defense, he isn't a mod in this forum , so merging wasn't an option for him
