If Kunitz was Austrian he would be on their 2nd line...

He should be the healthy scratch but they will not do that due to pride. Sharp must be pissed.

He is not a bad player by any means... but can you imagine Scott Hartnell at the Olympics for Canada... because he is about that level.

Lmao at the BBC:

'Nash is always falling over... not a great skater at this level.'

Reason why I saw the thread and knew never to enter.

I'll bet "today's NHL" was thrown around a bunch in that debate.

Jim Hughson and Glenn Healy are unbelievably stupid.

Canada is not mixing up their lines; sometimes players change on the fly. What a concept!

Can you imagine if you went of the history of hockey boards or main boards and said Lindros was heading for a career better than Howe up until 1999?

As that is pretty much what Crosbys career has been so far! Him and Lindros in PPG are pretty even at the same number of games played... Lindros had more GPG. The era adjusted does not make a huge difference either.

HF hivemind: For every goal scored in the period of 50s-80s, Crosby would have 2.75 goals.

When the next top-5 of all time talent arrives, we will definitely know he's here...and people will look back and wonder why anyone ever thought Crosby fit that bill.

It would have been interesting to see him play his grinder-style around the net next to Scott Stevens.

no offense but there are so many young kids on HF. many of them have no clue or what hockey history is. some of them act like the NHL did not exist before 1980.
If you took a poll with some of these kids I would be willing to bet some of em think that Duncan Keith for example is better then Bobby Orr.

lol. can you imagine Stevens playing in todays game? every hit on Crosby would be dirty and suspendable. I mean look at the Norway thread. they had some that were crying that Tollefssen was hitting their Canadian players

I cannot imagine what HFboards would have been like with Jagr, Lindros, Forsberg, Selanne, Bure, Fedorov, Sakic and Kariya around within ~4 years of each other!

'We have 8 of the best 10-12 all time young forwards in the NHL at same time! All of them are going to be competing for Gretzkys mantle at the same time!'

Really guys? Cmon! I know as Flyers fans were not supposed like Crosby but lets get real here...he is one of the best players in the world and his stats back that up. Right now you're only talking trash about him because he's on Team Canada

Better game for Canada.

Luongo made a good case to start against Finland.

I'll trash talk him if he's on Canada or Pittsburgh. Stats say that he has 4 points in his past 7 Olympic games with one being a SO goal. Not to mention that he had 0 Points in the series against the Bruins. It is starting to seem like the guy becomes small when the lights shine the brightest.

I kind of wonder if he's better when he is solely or mostly relied on to get the job done. He always seems to play better when Malkin's hurt in Pittsburgh.

At both Olympic games he just seems to be one of the guys, not the guy... but still scored the most important goal in the 2010 tournament.

That's definitely a possibility. I can say from experience that when i've played and been the guy it motivated me much more and I played much better. Although the best player in the world shouldn't need that motivation. I'm not saying that meaning that he isn't the best player in the world.

No. People are trashing him because the media treats him like a king, despite the fact that he's one great player on a team full of great players. Would you say he's been Canada's best player so far?
